SYC

So SYC is better because of one game? LMVSC has better teams in the lower age brackets. The U11 boys are undefeated, too bad they did not participate in the tournament. I hear the U10 girls are really strong too.

No kidding. But I think the question of which clubs has the better teams does not have a clear-cut answer.

So what is the point of all of the movement from one club to the other.

Exactly. And *IF* whole teams get bumped at SYC in favor of LMVSC teams following a coach over, then that'll be a clear BS move.

Both clubs are mediocre so who cares. BRYC and WSVA are probably going to eat the best players at both SYC/LMVSC .

Actually No, BRYC is its own mess and WSVA is too far for those families. Arlington/Alexandria before any of those 2.

Alexandria/LMVSC/SYC partnership for DA would make sense. Contiguous geographic area with a ton of talent relatively close, probably with a little less interest in playing at Arlington.

No it wouldn't. Between the Washington Spirit, FCV, and Arlington you have 3 clubs with the Girls DA. With BRYC, VDA, McLean, and Loudoun you have 4 ECNL teams. If you average 20 players per roster you now have 140 kids per age group playing what should be the most elite level of soccer. Think about it, only 3 years ago you had 40 per age group on the girls side where if you wanted to play elite soccer you either played for Mclean ECNL or FCV ECNL. There are too many teams now, so there is ZERO chance that those clubs you mentioned have a shot in hell.

I was thinking on the boys side. Not the girls.

Good point. Whats out there for the boys after U12? DC united academy? Girls can choose any of those clubs above but what about boys?

Well for SYC/LMVSC/Alexandria families only Arlington would work in proximity. The others are not even reasonably close. I'm counting DCU as being in Leesburg.

Well, that is kinda the whole point in spreading the DA's out some. If they overlap each other to much it causes dilution. That is why the GDA and ECNL in NoVA is a mess right now.

Once US Soccer stuck a fork in the younger boys age groups coverage and club proximity to every player pool became less an issue. And unfortunately the location of DA's will be inconvenient for many. DCU moving next door to Loudoun certainly goes against the grain a bit but the consensus is that in any event regardless of location that a MLS DA should be the higher destination.

Shouldn't DA be free? Lost most MLS teams?
