Princess Eugenie's wedding.... are you going to watch?

She is a redhead Brit who has vacationed in many sunny places in her life. Sunscreen only goes so far.

That is Sophie Winkleman. She's the wife of Lord Frederick Windsor, who is the son of Prince Michael of Kent - the Queen's first cousin (her father's brother's son).

Just searching out that lineage made me realize why Charles wants to streamline the family

Do you that is why the Queen made Anne the Princess Royal?

The eldest daughter is always known as the "princess royal."

I had a knock down drag out terrible divorce but 10 years later I don't mind standing next to the guy at a soccer game, let alone my daughter's wesding. I think the constant arranging of physical separation is awkward and insulting to Fergie. It's like grow up...this was decades ago!

+1. Plus isn’t Phillip old AF? I hope to not be concerned with such silliness when I’m 90.

It's not silliness when you're married to the monarch.

Phillip, more than most, has reason to fear public distaste and ridicule for the royal family. He was born a hereditary Prince of Greece, in the years they still had a royal family. Things got so bad he had to be smuggled out in a produce crate with the clothes on his back.

He's seen what happens when the public and government turn against the royals. That's in addition to the fact that Fergie completely and utterly made a fool of his son.

That’s what happens when you let an American suck your toes in public.

Well, he is the Dick Royal so he’ll never be too old for publicly snubbing others.

Camilla is the Duchess of Rothesay and had a long arranged trip tonthe region. Her patronage is very important. We were in Cornwall a few years ago when she and Charles made their annual visit to his duchy. It was a very big deal for the three or four day visit. You don’t seem to understand the role of royalty in the economy and generating interest in an area.

Camilla had 9 months from the announcement of the wedding date to move her obligation. She's the wife of the Prince Of Wales and any engagement, especially one as light as a school visit, could have changed the date around. Even the school officials she visited were surprised she didn't change her mind.

"I don’t think anyone would have been too startled if the engagement was cancelled because of the wedding."

She and Andrew + Fergie just hate each other. Between the divorce of Charles/Diana in 1996 and Camilla marrying Charles in 2005, Andrew (who has a lot of sway with the Queen) didn't do anything to 'help' her move forward as a wife. She knows it. He knows it. So she had to wait another decade after she had already waited basically 30 years. That's in addition to the fact that to Fergie, the mistress marrying the Prince is just...her worst nightmare.

Does everyone in Britain wear those hats to weddings or is it just the royals?

Everyone. They're a "thing" in the UK. And Ireland - at my cousin's wedding my sister and I were the bare-headed yanks, and most of the other ladies wore headgear.

That dress is a complete disaster.
