Preschool and Daycare Discussion
Because people are saying that the lead administrator has contributed to an unsafe environment by ignoring previous allegations of inappropriate behavior. In that kind of environment how do you know there is only a single perpetrator? It may be that's the one you know about. I'm so sorry for the families going through this. |
You say this based on what? |
And why take the risk if you don’t have to? Why are you acting so shocked that parents don’t trust the school right now? Is it truly that difficult for you to fathom? |
Why so defensive for a simple question? If someone says one perpetrator is the tip of the iceberg, it is very reasonable to ask why that poster thinks this is the case. My question didn't suggest I think the poster is right or wrong - I am trying to learn more information. I saw another poster suggest that another perpetrator was likely because the school has poor management. I guess poor management increases the chance of a broader problem, but that is a pretty nonspecific reason to think this extends beyond one person. If someone is saying this is just the tip of the iceberg, I would think that person would have more specific, concrete concerns leading them to believe and publicly state others were involved. If that is the case, I would love to have that information as I try to decide whether the school should be considered. |
| Seven! |
| To those of you who have posted that they told DJ of inappropriate behavior previously and she ignored it, have you spoken to the detectives? I hope you will come forward because I think it would be so important to establish a history of the perpetrator’s behavior. |
Have the families of these seven children been notified? Has every child who was taught by the alleged perpetrator been notified? |
| To the parent who says he or she told the school about an incident in 2016: (1) what exactly did you tell the school - what specifically did you say occurred? And (2) when exactly did you say it? If the school brushed aside allegations in 2016 and then other kids suffered similarly, then this reflects on the school’s judgment and possible negligence. I ask this with full sympathy for any parents and kids who have suffered here. |
NO! And the suspect literally has taught half the school by virtue of the PLUS chaos. I think this is why the school has not been forthright. They don’t want people to understand the true magnitude of how many small children came into regular contact with this guy or how badly designed the PLUS situation was . . . PLUS is a predator’s dream come true. After a million parent complaints about plus, NOW they are making modest changes. Too little, too late!! |
I know of one family who requested that he not diaper their daughter, and one family who requested an end to the nature walks. I am not the poster whose post you are referring to, so presumably there are more. |
The ‘independent investigation’ will be litigation. It seems pretty clear what happened: 1. The school ignored or ridiculed parent complaints and/or gaslighted the parent(s) 2. The school designed and implemented a plus/naptime program perfect for a problem employee to have maximum contact with maximum kids with many opportunities for oddball encounters 3. Parental concerns about the PLUS program were repeatedly ignored >>>> Children were abused. 4. The temple and school are now pretending the above isn’t quite true. My heart goes out to all the worried families. I can’t sleep and feel sick. |
| Why was the person not fired after the first complaint? |
Exactly. And why has DJ not been fired yet? I know of at least one incident of inappropriate touching in the plus program that was reported to DJ that she blew off. |
Please report this to the detective! |

I wonder: the school under this alleged incident is now holding parent meetings and sending school-wide emails. It has given the impression that this was the first alleged incident involving this teacher. But why were parents not informed about previous allegations?
The school’s recent actions had given me the impression that this was the first allegation and that it was somewhat isolated. But from what other parents are saying here, that impr soon is false: many allegations against this teacher have been made in the past it seems. Also, I had been thinking that I would wait for the criminal investigation to play out before “jumping to conclusions”. But that is a long process focusing on criminal proof beyond a reasonable doubt — a far highest standard of certainty than civil lawsuits require (which is the more likely than not standard). At what point would we be satisfied with the investigation? When an arrest is made? When a guilty plea or verdict is entered? What is there is an appeal? My point is: we have the responsibility to our kids to figure out what happened to our level of satisfaction, which may be less than “beyond a reasonable doubt”. *Parents: should we consider meeting ourselves WITHOUT WASHINGTON HEBREW PRESENT to hear from each other what we think is happening? I realize that people value privacy here, so maybe this won’t work. But please consider it. |
