I don't know where to start accusing the stupidity and unfairness of this AAP thing.
My 4th dtr scores are high:
COGAT 133
score 99 percent on her SOL
she is doing 5th grade math exercise book at home with ease and almost finishes this book.

yet we just got a rejection letter today.

When I came to USA as a teenager (ESL student), I asked the school counselor at Mark Twain Middle School to put me into the GT courses after completed ESL. I did well. I didn't take any of these COGAT and NAT tests like my 9 years old dtr. She knows so much more than me when I was at her age and her reading is superior.

Anyway, oh well, I don't care anymore and don't want to appeal/ fight this stupid / unfair AAP thing.

I guess if my English and reading were poor back then and I managed to get into UVA and my counselor even suggested that I should had applied for Princeton that she honestly believe I could get in (she said Harvard and Stanford are tricky because one one could predict what they do).

So be it..... I let my dtr enjoys her childhood and learns what she can (more) from at the comfort of her home

I will push her once she reaches middle school and definitely more so starting her 9th grade, that's when it counts (more or less)

Was the cogat a retake or was the new info the sol test and whatever this year’s gbrs was only?

Where did you get WISC done? I’m surpised it was so much higher than CoGAT and NNAT? We are in the same boat...taking WISC soon and I’m hoping scores are better on that than CoGAT and NNAT.

for some reasons, the students in her 2nd grade took the COGAT late in February 2016 (?) because of two kids were talking during the test (November 2015 ?). So it was cancelled and the whole class retook the test in February 2016.
my dtr didn't bring home her COGAT score letter towards the very end of her 2nd grade... This is her first and only official COGAT.
I didn't apply for Level 4 AAP at the Center base because I didn't know her COGAT score. However, I did apply for her school base AAP program (level 2 or level 3) but the school sent me a rejection letter denying her of any AAP services at the very last week of her 2nd grade. I was very upset and went to see her school counselor... then the silly fight began...(I got to meet with her school AAP selection committee. The AARP teacher then gave the committee and me a presentation of the reasons for the denial.

Is her school folks or AARP teacher reading this forum or thread ?

Scary!

Scary!

I am not as upset now as when I received the rejection letter towards the end of her 2nd grade; especially of learning the reasons the school provided me for denying my daughter of any types of AAP services (level 2 or level 3 school base) offered by Fairfax County.
Actually, I have decided to accept the response before opening today's letter...because I told myself it is not worth it.

Totally unnecessary. We are past this joking, killing time waiting for the results phase. This thread is to help others in the future years. Just keep to the results.

DP. Are you reading the same thread I am? Due to our out-of-control craziness, there are two concurrent threads and both are filled with extraneous posts.

Had WISC done at George Mason. I don’t really know why the scores were so different. The truth is I’m not sure AAP is a good fit, but I wanted to have the option.
