Let's also look at how Haiti is doing vs. the Dominican Republic. Same Island, split in half.

In the original US constitution, black people were property. That's also pretty racist.

Haiti was invaded by the US in 1915 and the occupation lasted nearly 20 years. US political and economic influence far outlasted that. The US hands are not nearly clean where Haiti is concerned. I have been to Haiti seven times. it is a country in difficult circumstances, but the people are tremendous. I would never call it a shithole.

Not to the same degree. Not all blacks were slaves, and free blacks could own property.

I'm pointing out that when you have an overwhelming majority of people, they tend to pass laws that favour themselves.
