| I love how one PP marshaled a lot of evidence of the quality of CNU, and not one bashed has been able to counter that evidence with anything other than never heard of it. |
| People actually care about this shit? |
| Then what was the point of the OP's post? Getting an education on VA schools or trolling DCUM? |
If you don't care, why are you reading the College forum? |
I read recent topics and many of my friends went to JMU. I am just constantly amazed at how grown people, years out of school, still somehow manage to carry their degrees like a badge of honor as if anyone that doesn't have an inferiority complex cares. |
You can justify your prestige craze any way you want, and pay $$$$ for the promise of "better". As several PPs pointed out, 10 years out of college no one gives a d@mn where one got their Bachelors degree. |
| We had a summer intern who was in the JMU Honors program. That guy was scary-smart. |
That intern must have been 1 or 2 TJ grads who attend JMU each year. |
It's not about prestige. And it certainly does matter. I'm 25 years out and I'm about to call my former (brilliant) study partner to possibly bring him in on something. The relationships are there for life. There isn't anything wrong with JMU/GMU at all, but stop acting like they are something they are not. They are decent regional universities with good name recognition in this region. |
Agree. You can't discount the fact that "It's who you know not what you know". |
Yes, there are only 1-2 students in the whole JMU Honors Program
|
| I'm from Florida and went to college in PA. I had not heard of JMU or Christopher Newport until I had lived here for 2 years. |
No one here, except for the snotty few who say they are crap schools, says anything different. |
Really? What about the booster(s) calling people stupid or clueless if they haven't heard of those schools before? |
| Because they are ignorant, and even when instructed, they remain so. |
