We say there is no God, don't seek Him for guidance and direction, take Him out of ECERYTHING, then blame Him cause its all gone to s***.

The question should be: why believe in this ^^ god. A punitive god would be the worst! He could save us all but he's miffed and turns his back. It really takes an odd duck to enjoy the idea of such an authoritarian god.

But God does not turn His back, that is why He sent His Son.
You cannot deny God, then get mad because you do not like,or understand the way He does things.

faithful people aren't smarter either and not arrogant. They are simply blessed with the gift of faith. Whenever their faith wavers, it always comes back because of this gift.

In contrast, some atheists were once religious, but lost the gift of faith along the way, affected by evidence and logic.

Some people may by temporarily swayed by evidence and logic, but eventually their gift of faith returns and though they apply evidence and logic in most other aspects of their lives, they do not apply it to religion, or they only apply it to parts of religion that won't affect their underlying faith.

I disagree -- I think people say that people are not logical when it comes to faith -- and even faithful people will tell you that. There is nothing logical, for instance, about thinking that humans, unlike all other forms of life, can live forever in another realm, if they believe in God and his son who died for them. Yet there are extremely intelligent and logical people who believe that, because they have the gift of faith.

Who is trying to prove people of faith are not smart or logical? Its' been said on this and other threads, by believers and non-believers alike, that believers can be very smart and logical, but it's not intelligence or logic that makes them believers -- it's faith.

A lot of people on these threads directly say or infer that people of faith do not have a logical mind, do not believe in logic and are not smart. So, yes, I was speaking to those folk.By the way, I happen to believe that faith and logic are not mutually exclusive.

A lot of people on these threads say that atheists are stupid for not believing in God. Also, that atheists have no morals and are going to burn in hell for eternity because they refuse to believe in the Christian god. A lot of religious people don't believe that, but some do.

This is a discussion board where people are free to express their opinions, so people say all sorts of things. No reason to take it personally. Some things are useful, some aren't. You might learn from some points of view and be offended by others.

There are people who have said that PP's (PPs'?)arguments against God and religion are poorly argued and full of logical fallacies like non sequiturs, reductio ad absurdem, red herrings, ad hominem attacks.

On the contrary, the atheist PP(s?) has repeatedly written that those of faith are illogical and stupid.

+1. Atheist PP's arguing style here doesn't have any fans. That's very different, however, from saying that atheists in general are stupid.
