August due dates?

Elle and Vee, sorry to hear about your pain and numbness :/ Hang in there - hopefully your little babies will be here sooner rather than later and your pain will be alleviated.

I am 37 w and 5 days - no dilation and little to no contractions. I have a feeling this little one will make a late arrival!

I'm 39 weeks today and at my Thursday appointment I was 25% effaced and not dialated. I resigned myself to going another couple of weeks, BUT I've been having contractions since 3:30, so maybe something will happen soon. They're every 12-15 minutes and only last 20-30 seconds, but it's something!

Good luck! I hope the contractions are a good sign of you going into labor soon!

Yeah don't take anything anyone tells you about dilation/effacement as any sign of anything. You can walk around at 3cm for weeks. You can go from 5-10cm in 20 minutes.

Vee here.

Thanks for the recommendations, Elle! I'm familiar with some of those and will look up the others. Today I've been more comfortable, but it's really a day-to-day thing.

Good luck to 09:35! Keep updating if you're able!

I've also heard exactly what 12:25 said about dilation/effacement. That things can change very very slowly, or extremely fast. So frustrating!

In the meantime, I set up the pack n play with the internal raised platform thing in our living room, have the nursery ready, and will be washing the removable liners (bedding) for the swing, rock n play, bouncer, carseat, etc tomorrow. I think the nesting instinct is kicking in.

Elle here. 38 weeks 5 days. I keep wondering how long I'll wait. I've still got tons of energy. Last night I made a 4-course meal with my husband for his parents and my mom. I've been cleaning and organizing during most of my free time. But this has been going for awhile now.

I am so excited about meeting my baby. I hope I don't have too much longer!

Elle - you are going to meet your baby soon! So exciting! I am 38 weeks today. I still cannot believe this baby could come any day. I am ready and cannot wait, but just can't believe it!

My burst of energy disappeared this weekend and I have been so tired ever since. I feel like I may be fighting off a cold too, so that doesn't help.

I can't wait to read updates when the August babies start arriving Please keep us posted when your baby arrives!

9:35 here from saturday. my little girl was born saturday night!! i contacted all day and finally they got to 4 minutes apart and my water broke at 5. Went in and was told at 7pm that i was only 1 cm dilated. i labored hard for 3 hours then felt the urge to push. i reached down and could feel her head, so we yelled for a doctor and she was born at 10:30!! it was a wild ride, but she's healthy and perfect. After three losses, it's just so amazing to have her in my arms. hoping for easy labors and healthy babies for all the august moms. she was due 8/3, so she was born a week early, which is a nice gift too!!

Petunia here.

Had an appointment today - no dilation, no effacement, nothing. The doctor even said, "Your cervix is doing NOTHING." I am 1 week 5 days from my due date. The doctor said they would consider inducing after I was a week late, and even then I may need a c-section. I know you can go from 0 cm to 10 cm in a day, so I am not too worried. I would just rather have this baby sooner rather than later. I am AMA, so the idea of going well past my due date worries me a bit. This rain needs to clear up so I can start walking - maybe that will get things going!

Hope everyone is doing well!
