That is certainly an interesting move. Obviously it is a bigger pool to swim in being in DC than dealing with STAB way out in the country. There wasn't a ton in the cubbard at Bullis so it might take a year or two.

Same thing they said about this year and see how that turned out. 15-3, 5-0 in IAC and feel short at the end. Next year will have a solid group and Bell will need to figure out quickly how to fill the holes and compete. IAC will be interesting to say the least!

Who needs dorms. That is a pain in the !@#... You will turn off a ton of families in the DMV as is the case at Prep.

great hire by Bullis! the IAC just got a lot more interesting to follow! Talk about a 3 horse race now at the top between the Hoyas, Bears and Bulldogs!

Good for DC area lacrosse

Bell’s MO is recruiting good players from non-lax hotbeds and weak lax programs and promising exposure and college recruitment. And he’s delivered on that for the most part. He has had good teams, because he has had good players.

The DMV is a lax hotbed with lots of other strong programs. Not being able to bring in boarders from the Midwest, the South and from Canada will be a major adjustment for him. He may be successful in enticing some public school players to come play at Bullis on financial aid, but it’s going to be an uphill battle to get the best local players over Prep, Landon, Gonzaga and SJC.

I think he can do it, but it will take more time than he is used to.

Bullis clearly ambitious.

I thought Bullis non sports HOS was a no go. Looks like the scholarship spigot is back on at falls road for lax.

Always has been. The HOS only wants the best for Falls Road!

Bullis is not backing down.

Landon and maybe even GP are probably a bit anxious about the new hire on Falls Road.

Can’t forget Bell telling an opposing KID in the handshake line “better luck next year”. Can he make Bullis good in time before he leaves to his next school? He loves a good 3-4 year pit stop

His tenure at Bullis will be 3 -4 years.

But he will make Bullis extremely good at the national level.

Not sure this is the case - his kids are getting to an age where they may want more stability for them.

So he leaves toney Charlottesville for Bullis? He's a cancer if he doesn't get a team of scholarships.

Years ago when my DD was touring Bullis - the AD told us they were 1) building dorms and 2) building an Ice Rink on campus. Obviously, it didn't happen but who knows what direction they're headed
