It might not be what you would do but doesn’t make it wrong.

UGA is T20 public. Comparing rankings within a certain tier, such as T20 public, is ridiculous.

Come on. UGA is 46 out of national universities and UVA is 26. UVA is in an entirely different league than UGA. I agree that UGA is a great school. BTW, my DC toured and loved it. Was actually deferred from UGA and accepted at UNC and UVA (in state).

Neither of them are top 25, so does it really matter?

What doesn't matter is your false reliance on on ranking source over another to come up with a random Top 25. None of that matters. Employers know the schools they recruit from and why they want those school's graduates and they are not basing it off some random USWR ranking for their decisions. I know this blows your mind but it's time to face reality here.

Says the person who responded to 46 and 26 rankings.

So you admit the rankings are meaningless?

Yes after the top 20…..😁

Good thing UGA made it in as a T20 public

But only 46 in top American universities. No one cites the top public listing, which you are. https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges/university-of-georgia-1598

They literally have a top public list, in which case UGA is a T 20 public. Either ignore the rankings completely, or deal with the various lists USNWR publishes. You don’t get to pick and choose which rankings you like and dislike. Sorry!

Does UGA yield protect? My OOS DC was deferred with really high stats. Accepted at UNC and UVA.

insecurity causes such things. Hence why you see "Top 25" or "Top 20" on these boards. No one cares at that point. Just be happy if your kids are happy wherever they are.

My kids college counselor had another client who didn’t get into UVA but got into Dartmouth (from VA). It doesn’t make sense but at least your kid has great options

Adding, at that point it depends on what the major is and the ranking of that major and if employers recruit well for grads of that particular major at that specific school. These employers are not looking if that school is a Top 20 or 25 based on some publication which can be completely different than another publication source. The "Top 25" "Top 20" is just fodder for a message board.

Weak troll attempt. State schools don’t yield protect.

How would a large university yield protect with 50,000+ applications? Seriously, explain how you think that would work.

It happens. People get caught up thinking that UVA is the end-all-be-all of colleges, but getting in doesn't define anyone's worth and they reject a lot of kids who get into more prestigious schools. It's just the nature of admissions today. Spread a wide net and it will all work out.

False. Ask any college counselor or family gearing up for college admissions. It’s all USNWR.

80,000 at least for this year. No, UVA does not yield protect.
