I think they should have essays again. There is such a limited set of things to make decisions on now. With test optional, you don't have standardized scores for many applicants. The vast majority of high schools no longer have class rank. Grade inflation is so high at many high schools that it makes it difficult to identify the real standouts. |
Plus UGA is test required and UVA enrolls 30% without tests. These numbers are inflated because the low scorers are not factored in at UVA (unlike UGA). |
Maybe it's time to consider a UC school assuming average SAT is (much) lower if you are premed? |
You’ve proven my point. You’re relying on an arbitrary ranking when in your case, UGA was more selective than UVa and UNC. |
Out of these UGA is the only one that requires the SAT. You can’t compare to TO. |
You are right. Someone already posted that. |
Why? Roll with it. |
No. UVA is going compared to others and they love international students. |
So.. it worked out the best! |
Says the person who responded to 46 and 26 rankings. |
So you admit the rankings are meaningless? |
UVA wants higher than 20% of class |
Yes after the top 20…..😁 |
Maybe your kid just didn't have the institutional fit they were looking for? Congrats on all of their other incredibly competitive acceptances. It sounds like your kid has some great options! |
