Yes but TSJ seems to be the only outlier regarding which league their top team will be playing in for 26-27.

It would help to communicate clearly to families that the league isn’t available anymore so they can plan either by seeking GA tryouts elsewhere or by understanding that Aspire is now the primary pathway.

The website says they'll be hosting GA ID sessions but there are no dates listed.

Should be coming out soon--with the snow/weather forecasts they had to adjust

Don’t they have an indoor facility to run IDs? Sounds like they are delaying the inevitable. Hello Aspire!

No. The St James will sell you on the notion that the team will get to use the indoor field, but the reality is the fields are outdoor. The indoor turf is better monetized with lacrosse, football, and basically anything other than soccer. Field space and sheer managerial incompetence (objectively indiscernible from an intentional desire to kill their own program) have plagued them since AB took over three years ago. He is an abject disaster, accomplished only at selling snake oil and finding new “partnerships” and “collaborations,” but the TSJ leadership must like him. Matter of time.

What outdoor fields do they practice on?

I believe that in the past they used Hal & Bernie (about a 50 min drive from TSJ) and George Mason fields in FFX (about 35 min drive from TSJ). I believe they try to get field space from Episcopal but have some issues with that. Imagine playing a field sport for a club that has its own massive turf but even in the winter you rarely step foot on it because they have given it away—for free—to DC private school football teams so they can cross-sell TSJ memberships to rich parents. In the winter months you can probably light your $3500 annual dues on fire to keep warm on the outdoor fields.

So people try out for their teams not knowing if they will be practicing in Alexandria, Loudoun or Burke? Or do they tell people st the tryout? Because no one lives convenient to all three of those fields.

Preach. It's incredible watching someone so thoroughly torch a program. This is a business case study in "the fish rots from the head down".

Yeah, I don't get this. No one is fine with a practice that will end up either at Episcopal HS, or in Loudoun.

Seems like they're still trying to get Loudoun County fields...gotta have a rec program for travel space

TSJFC families,

In honor of the upcoming FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico The St. James Football Club is very excited to offer FREE RECREATIONAL SOCCER in Loudoun for Spring 2026!! This will be for our traditional recreational league program and Discover Soccer for our 2-5 year olds at our locations in: Ashburn, Aldie/ Brambleton and Lovettsville for players 2-12 years old.

Besides GA, which it looks like they're moving back to Fairfax, what other travel teams do they currently have playing in Loudoun? NCSL teams?

“In honor of”
“In collaboration with”
“In partnership with”
“Sponsored by”

The program is honestly a joke that would be much funnier if it’s victims weren’t families paying $3500 just to say they are “on a top team” because they couldn’t make a real top team in the area. We all know the kids who play there and zero of the would make a real ECNL or GA team at another club. But let’s not say that part out loud. I sincerely hope JO can change the trajectory, for the kids’ sake, but as long as AB is there and TSJ leadership remains committed to a tread-water-rather-than-rescue strategy, I’m not optimistic.

They said GA was moving to Fairfax last year, but that has not happened. No thanks.

Amen to all this. As a current parent of a DD who plays at TSJ and in the futsal program, it feels like we are being lit on fire. It is total gaslighting. I would feel even worse about it if it didn’t require me to confront my own stupidity for joining this club.

Are you going to leave TSJ after this year?

Did they confirm to you what league they are in for next year?

So all the teams basically practice at Hansen park in Loudoun?
