Because the whole thing is insane...the dress was supposedly inspired by doges. Medieval Venetian rulers who were often found wearing velvet while tending to their majolica-tiled kitchens.

Also the buttons make sense on the original Sofia Lauren wedding dress. Because the top is meant to look like a separate bodice. Putting them from top to bottom on the front and back of a full length dress is very strange.

I am grateful that billionaires support the fashion industry.

I also disliked Lady Di's dress - too drippy and crumpled - and Kate Middleton's dress - too basic and copying of Grace Kelly's dress. So this isn't a Lauren Sanchez thing. I'm hoping the richest people on Earth can do better. Princess Beatrice actually did a pretty good job upcycling her Granny's gown and tiara.

The most elegant royal/major celebrity wedding dress in modern memory was actually Meghan Markle, like her or not.

Same deal with her dress being incredibly ill fitting though, it's like she bought it and never went to a fitting, it looked awful.

Her dress is lovely, I agree. It had to be modest bc she had a Jewish religious ceremony. If she were left to her own devices, we may have seen a different look from her.

Here's their pic of her wedding dress. I think the dress is gorgeous but would be better as either a sheath or a-line (I don't like the dramatic fishtail), and that she looks insane from the plastic surgery and corset.

I had a really cute mermaid cut taffeta gown that was Gunnesax from 1990 (had in Hs). It was great because I was a size 0 with no curve so it built in some curves, also the “tail” wasn’t long — just a little kick out at the bottom with a lift in the front. It’s not a flattering look on someone who already has lots of curves and it’s easy to make it look ridiculous if the tail is too big.

I wonder if pink was a suggested color for guests. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Oprah in pink before—she usually likes jewel tones like royal, purple, etc.

Here is the problem with fashion magazines - they need to report the height of the wearer.
Sanchez was too short to pull off that dress.
She needed to look at petite fashion, not the stuff donning women 5'11"+.

Her head looks freakishly big. The disproportionate boob's make her seen even more pygmy.

It does look gorgeous on the model. The dress needs height and a lack of personal flotation devices. I’m surprised Sanchez didn’t get it custom tailored.
