Because they don't get accused of doing it the wrong and lazy way. So why would they be defensive when not attacked?

You are doubting the fact that diet and exercise is the better, and more challenging way?

Better? No it’s not better. Are you doubting the fact that people taking these meds are doing diet and excerxise? Because I worked out 6 days a week and made a hell of a lot of changes to my diet.

Yes, I absolutely doubt that all or even a significant majority of the people taking these drugs exercise 6 days a week and eat healthfully.

That’s because you choose to stay ignorant. That’s totally on you.

I eagerly await your support for the claim that all or a significant majority of people on this drug are *actually* exercising 6 days a week and eating healthfully. You know, so I don’t stay ignorant.

I told you what I did. You are the one making a claim that majority of the people do not. So the burden of proof is on you, moron.

So you don’t have any. Thanks that’s what I thought.

DP here. PP is right. You made the claim. You need to prove it. As Hitchens's Razor says, "That which which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence".

Not on a GLP but….Calories in, calories out still applies. They are still in calorie deficit because science.

Not always. I eat & feel 100% the same off and on GLP-1. The difference? I’m able to lose weight (s l o w l y) while on GLP. Oh and lowered my A1c (prediabetic), cholesterol and BP.

CICO still applies. It’s your burn rate that is changing.

DP here. Let's cut out the exercise part and just discuss the "eating healthfully" part. Have you, poster who is claiming people on these meds are not eating "healthfully," ever been on them? Because I have, and can tell you from firsthand experience that the whole point is that the GLP-1 forces you to eat healthfully. If I overeat, if I eat fast food or similar or food that is too rich or too whatever, I will be sick as a dog. Any not healthful food and I have diarrhea and intense nausea.

So if you want to claim that taking the meds is the lazy way out because people are getting a chemical boost that makes their brain make better choices vs their non-medicated brain exerting extreme willpower and fighting through deprivation to lose weight, ok, I will disagree with you but at least your argument is rational. But to say people on these meds are not losing weight through eating better but rather through something else is just flat out wrong. If they were still eating the same way as before, they wouldn't lose the weight.

They might still be eating the same way, just less of it, thanks to the brain fix.

Unhealthy food makes many people sick on these meds.

Many, not all. I’ve read these boards long enough to see that not everyone is changing the type of food they are eating.

It is amazing to me that you chose to participate in these discussions considering it has zero to do with you. Why do you keep coming back?

Clearly this bothers you. Why are you here?

I know men on the drug as well, and their reaction is so different. Many tell everyone and they don’t have the same shame. I can’t imagine any of them getting upset with anyone calling it the easy or lazy way out. Most I know would say: damn straight.

Instead, here, we have posters who are so sensitive that they just swear at other posters.

Any not everyone loses on these meds. It isn’t guaranteed. Some people complain about not responding and they inevitably aren’t tracking calories. The people I know who have lost a good amount count calories and do exercise (though eating is the more important part).

Why do you think losing weight should be hard? Serious question.

+1

Sure Larla's cancer is in remission -- but she just had surgery and it worked. She didn't have to have chemo or radiation. She did it the easy way.

Comparing weightloss to cancer?

Are you trying to look like a joke?

OK, so you did not like PPs analogy, fine. You still have not responded to the clearly worded question: why do you want weight loss to be hard for other people?

Look, there is benefit in doing hard things.

As someone who has ben obese as a child and much of my adult life, most of us overeat for deep emotional reasons. It's not just because we love bread so much. Cool, a GLP1 will reduce your appetite and thus help you lose weight. But it never helps the person get to the deep reason why they coped with food in the first place. It's the reason why most regain when they go off the drug, and also the reaosn why most people re-gain in general.

Doing the deep emotional work is challenging and hard, but that's the only way one can untangle the bad habits in the first place to relaly fix them. Sorry that you feel butt hurt over that.

I want everyone to be healthy, but you can't fix the mind just by losing some pounds. Them's them hard apple facts.

Again, why do you want ***other people*** to work harder than is strictly necessary to lose weight? Why do you comment at all on other people’s medicine decisions?

As an aside, this is an endocrine drug that manipulates gastric hormones secreted in the intestines. Not sure why you’re bringing TikTok psycho babble into it.

So much projection from that one. She'll find out soon that she may be sinny, but is still miserable, angry, and insecure. The meds help people lose weight - but they don't undo the undelying brain brokenness.
