Same. No shaming, more likely asking about how to get it/ pay for it. And yeah, it's easy. I love easy! Shouldn't more things be easy? |
You are a gross person. How dare you shame someone for taking medical advice from their doctor 🙄 |
Science is the best! |
1. Not it isn't ... diet and exercise does not result in the horrific side effects that GLP 1s can result in (and have, for me at least). Your are wrong -- point blank. 2. Most of us on GLP1 meds must also have "consistent diet and exercise." I log all of my food on Lose It, maintain and calorie deficit every day, and work out. I have lost very large amounts twice in the past, on WW, and I will assure you it was a lot easier than being on Wegovy. But I have medication related weight gain, that just keeps coming back, and so here I am. On the Wegovy. No ... it's not "the easy way." Not even close for those of us with bad side effects. So maybe stop explaining things that you don't understand (or even know that much about). |
+1 Sure Larla's cancer is in remission -- but she just had surgery and it worked. She didn't have to have chemo or radiation. She did it the easy way. |
This. Just own it. |
Oh, I think comments on this thread make it pretty clear why some may not want to "just own it" and how people will not necessarily "be very supportive." |
Comparing weightloss to cancer? Are you trying to look like a joke? |
+10000 If you feel shame or sensitive about it, then perhaps one should ask themselves why. |
Nope. Not comparing weight loss to cancer. Try again. |
Comparing medical conditions and taking medical advice to another medical condition and taking medical advice. Of course you’d be one to think someone took the easy way out of cancer treatment 😂 |
Agree. |
I think GLP-1 is so widely accepted in my circle that if someone were gossipy or judgmental about it, it would only reflect poorly on them. |
I took a GLP for vanity weight loss. Went from under a 23 BMI to just over 19. Look and feel amazing, everyone is complimenting me, and many are asking what I did.
It IS the easy way. I tried for years to get back to my fighting weight through diet and exercise. Couldn't resist the junk food. GLPs have been a miracle. I can eat like a supermodel and never feel hungry or deprived. It's like a secret weapon. I've been relatively slim my whole life, but not without a ton of effort and suffering. I wish I'd had this magic all those years. I have told no one. When people compliment me, I deflect. If they push and ask how I did it, I just say, "I've kind of struggled with weight and body image my whole life and I really hate the topic." And that shuts them down. Women are mostly very mean (all you need to do is read this board, particularly threads on GLPs). |
I was wondering about this too. I have exactly one friend who is a size 12/14--and she is on a GLP-1. |
