Then you have Oak Hill and Fox Mill as clearly going to McLearen along with Floris, McNair, and maybe/maybe not Coates.

It's a fancy building but not a huge one so it may only have five feeders. If they bite the bullet and send Coates to Herndon (people have debated whether FCPS would send a high-FARMS school like Coates to Herndon) then it can pick up Crossfield. Navy seems more likely to stay at Chantilly and Oakton. We spent a lot of money expanding Oakton and moving Crossfield would already pull a lot of kids out.

Don't be stupid. Herndon is much further away from Crossfield than this new school, South Lakes, and Chantilly. Plus, Crossfield is zoned to Carson and most of the kids live in Franklin Farm and the neighborhoods off of West Ox Rd. They will move it to the new HS.

You don’t have to be such a jerk. We don’t know how much capacity this school (which will be in Herndon unless you’re going to pretend 20171 isn’t Herndon) will have, but it’s clear they will leave some folks at Oakton who might like to move.

I would imagine that capacity is at least twice that - it's a huge campus.

No idea what you’re talking about. People are saying all of Crossfield and all of Navy should move to this new school, presumably because they think it will be more convenient than Oakton.

And I’m saying maybe, maybe not, because we don’t know how much capacity this school will have and they presumably will want to maintain a healthy enrollment at Oakton, which was itself recently expanded.

The smartest thing would be to send everyone from Carson to this new high school - make it a secondary school of sorts. They'll have to tear down the trees in between the schools for sports fields and a parking lot anyway.

They can fix that by swapping around some of the Franklin and Carson feeders. Doesn’t Oak Hill go to Chantilly? Move them to Carson/new school.
