Elon’s doing the important work so Trump needs a project of his own. Like a menu to color on at Applebees.

Autocrats hate the arts. Leads to freedom
of thought and expression (and he’s probably envious of JFK’s popularity)

I’m guessing Trump doesn’t know the first thing about KC operations. For example, most of the annual revenue ($240 million) comes from an endowment, private donations, grants, ticket sales, etc. Separately, the federal government appropriates $45 million for primarily maintenance and capital repairs since the building is a national monument. It’s a public-private partnership, not a fully public entity. I’m not sure POTUS has any authority to install himself as Chairman of KC’s board.

So, Trump is going to spend his time as POTUS attending KenCen board meetings?

I wonder if this is a first step to try taking over a board and Trump will try to subsequently install himself as chair of other federal boards and commissions like FTC, NLRB, FEC, NTSB, etc. His goal is the consolidate and centralize power, and so far he’s getting away with it.

No one has mentioned the beauty pageants he would love to manage at the KC. Groper-in-chief!

It does remind me of a farcical version of Augustus granting himself the various republican offices and powers as a way of pretending that traditional constitutional legitimacy continued.

Trump enjoys going out to musicals. Among his favorites are Cats, Phantom of the Opera (the phantom song was used during his 2016 campaign), the 1982 musical Little Orphan Annie (where the tycoon saves the orphan), the Music Man, and there are others.

There were articles on his specific musical tastes published a few years back. They are easily searched via the web

Never once been there in 25 years living in DC and NOVA. Definitely not for me although I do a couple drives up to NY a year for shows. Oh well. I hardly knew ye.

When was Trump last seen going to a musical, art exhibit, or other arts programming? I’ve only ever seen him going to Trump properties. I’m not sure he frequents other businesses or anything that doesn’t have his name on it.

Not for nothing…
But Hitler f’ed around with arts too. He was a failed and frustrated painter.
He hated modern art.
He wanted everything to be in the classical style and passed laws censoring the art he disfavored.
It’s all just the same song with a slightly different tune.
Hopefully the tune is different enough.

Let's face it: Trump just wants to take over things. And a lot of Libs hang out at the Kennedy Center so he wants them to be outraged.

+1 Hitler also went after the civil service and purged those not in line with his master plan.

In the 80’s? When he spoke in coherent sentences and he was a Democrat?
