Stalking?! Public pages? These kids are proud and want people to see and celebrate their accomplishments. Go be grumpy somewhere else.

Yes stalking. You can also go to any public park, doesn’t make you any less of a creep for standing and watching.

Riddle me this: why do the kids maintain and post on these pages if they don’t want people to see?

GDS now adding in multiple Northwesterns, multiple Barnards, Princeton, multiple Wesleyans.

Ivy Day will be good this year.

Sidwell now has 2 Stanfords, 2 Northwesterns, and 2 Cornells. Every Ivy is represented, except Penn, Columbia, and Harvard. By the time Ivy Day arrives, every Ivy will be represented (at least once).

As the parent of a Sidwell alum and an upper school student, I’ve got to say that these posts are gross. Get over yourselves and grow up.

Weird post. Hard to believe that you are an adult.

No, what’s hard to believe is that adults are talking about kids’ college results as if they’re the basis for high school bragging rights in some sort of weird contest.

This is one of the most exciting times in anyone’s life, for the parents and the students. Yes, it can be stressful. But mostly it’s exciting and transformational. Of course parents want to talk about it, it would be weird not to! I get excited for the kids I don’t even know!

I agree that it’s exciting! By all means, talk about it with the parents you know! What’s weird are these discussions about college results on a public forum. Along with the GDS vs Sidwell jousting that is going on, as if the relative worth of these schools (and their parents) is somehow determined through college placement results at a small group of colleges.

Totally agree on that front. It’s silly, short sighted and just wrong to blame or laud schools for this snap shot.

Any adult who refers to these posts as “gross” needs to grow up. Pot meet kettle.

P.S. Your child isn’t a Sidwell alum and/or you’re very unhappy about the colleges that chose your child. Your post reeks of misery.

Gross is actually an appropriate and excellent word to use here. Too bad for you that your appreciation of English is so narrow and unrefined.

Sorry you don’t believe me that I’m a parent of a Sidwell alum. How should I prove it to you? You want me to tell you the name of the graduation speaker when my kid graduated? Or how about I give you the current upper school principal’s cell phone #? (You may not know who he is, since I’m guessing you’re a lower school parent, if you’re a parent at all.)

As for my alum child, they got in ED to an Ivy. Doesn’t make it any less gross for parents to be talking on a public forum about kids’ college placement results in the crass way that you’ve been doing.

Robbie Gross is the current US principal, and your child most definitely was not admitted to an Ivy (nor any college you’re happy about).

Once again, you sound miserable. Why do you insist on returning to a thread entitled, “HS college commitment websites” to scold people?!? Don’t click on this link if you find the topic so objectionable. We’re going to continue to talk about college placement results, whether you approve or not. Move along!

Can’t take a little criticism? You sound as insecure as your fixation on kids’ college placement results would suggest.

I love your insistence that my kid doesn’t attend an Ivy League university. It’s very amusing.

NP. Then why are you on this thread?? You guys need to stop pretending this is so "gross".

There's nothing wrong with celebrating. They worked hard for it. If you don't like it, don't let your kid post their result.

Sure- their peers. To celebrate with their friends, not some creepy mom who doesn’t even have a child at the school.

Probably aren’t expecting strange, weirdo mothers to be stalking them. When I told DS that mothers like you exist and want to see his decision, he immediately said “gross” and is now not posting.

Why are you still here?

You definitely know about insecurity and misery. Penn State is a fine school, so your child should be ok. However, I think you’re confusing it with UPenn. They are not the same.😊

Go on with your nonsense about where you think my alum goes to college. Why would I make that up? It’s really entertaining to see you beclowning yourself like this.

I’m hardly miserable, I’m just appalled by the tone of the discussion here. So why don’t you stop projecting? Do something better with your life than jousting on a public forum about schools’ college results, involving kids you don’t know, with people you don’t know. Talk about insecure and miserable! Only someone who is both would be comparing Sidwell and GDS early results as if it’s some sort of competition where the “winner” gets a trophy.

What are you talking about, miserable troll? I haven’t compared Sidwell’s results to GDS’. It sounds as if you don’t understand how DCUM works. There are multiple people posting in this thread.

I and/or my children know the vast majority of Sidwell seniors being discussed here, based on their PUBLIC IG posts.

If you’re so “appalled,” please do us all a favor and exit this thread immediately. No one is going to stop posting because of your silly objections. MOVE ALONG!
