Gross is actually an appropriate and excellent word to use here. Too bad for you that your appreciation of English is so narrow and unrefined.

Sorry you don’t believe me that I’m a parent of a Sidwell alum. How should I prove it to you? You want me to tell you the name of the graduation speaker when my kid graduated? Or how about I give you the current upper school principal’s cell phone #? (You may not know who he is, since I’m guessing you’re a lower school parent, if you’re a parent at all.)

Robbie Gross is the current US principal, and your child most definitely was not admitted to an Ivy (nor any college you’re happy about).

I’m hardly miserable, I’m just appalled by the tone of the discussion here. So why don’t you stop projecting? Do something better with your life than jousting on a public forum about schools’ college results, involving kids you don’t know, with people you don’t know. Talk about insecure and miserable! Only someone who is both would be comparing Sidwell and GDS early results as if it’s some sort of competition where the “winner” gets a trophy.[/quote]
