You are working hard at being offended on behalf of other people. Sounds like you really want these "other people" to know about this so they can vote for who you want to win. This post is very "see, see, see, look what they are saying about you don't vote for them!"

As a Christian, I am far more offended by Trump supporters who call themselves Christian, but who want to gut the social safety nets for the elderly and disabled.

As a Christian, I am far more offended by Trump supporters who call themselves Christian, but who refer to any plan to ensure that we can care of the sick and injured and not have them go deeply into debt as "communist."

As a Christian, I am far more offended by Trump supporters who call themselves Christian, but who want to cut food stamps for hungry families barely able to make ends meet.

As a Christian, I am far more offended by Trump supporters who call themselves Christian, but who want to demonize and turn away refugees and asylum seekers.

You hold values that go against every grain of core Christian teaching.

+1 It’s a parody of this. Not everything is about Catholicism.

Not the same at all. He's not kneeling, etc.

I went to 12 years of Catholic school and continued to attend Catholic mass through my 20s. I never knelt while taking communion.

Stop trying to make fetch happen with this. Whoever told you this was the week's biggest scandal grossly oversold it.

Very safe bet Whitmer’s tone def spokeswoman and her colleagues are in this thread.

Whitmer spokeswoman Helen Hare just mocked anyone outraged and actually considers it a win that this is going viral. Helen compares 53 year old Whitmer’s social media content to 22 year old Billie Eilish and Kylie Kardashian.

Real genius spin.

Helen is partner at the women-owned Watershed Strategy, their office is allegedly in Dupont Circle. Helen is a 37-ish year old alum of Oberlin.

Probably another safe bet is that 37 year old Helen is friends with the 37 year old feminist podcaster on her knees for the governor.

LOL no. I only see two categories of people in this thread:

1. the MAGA or MAGAs trying to oversell this faux scandal
2. the rest of us who think it's dumb

Thank you for this background info. It explains the weirdness and lack of sensitivity for others.

There are very clearly MAGA operatives here.

Take this quote from above to your bosses, because it's a lot more hard-hitting than this Whitmer nonsense. It's a huge liability for Christian conservatives.

As a Christian, I am far more offended by Trump supporters who call themselves Christian, but who want to gut the social safety nets for the elderly and disabled.

How are they sick? What about this video offends you?

They are sick because they clearly get their jollies by purposefully doing something that they know will upset a lot of people.

I am not Catholic. I am an evangelical Christian and yes, this offends me. It makes a mockery of the sanctity of Communion, which was Jesus shedding his body and blood for our sins.

How does it mock communion?

Are you honestly so stupid/ irreligious/ clueless that you can't understand that? Do you even know what Communion is? Have you ever been to church in your life?

I don't know what to say to people like you. You keep asking "why" it is offensive. If you can't see that these idiots are mocking a religious sacrament, then I don't know what to tell you. I think you're being purposefully dense.

I think that you are either drunk or crazy!

Great. Then I suggest you think about this:

As a Christian, I am far more offended by Trump supporters who call themselves Christian, but who want to gut the social safety nets for the elderly and disabled.

I go to Mass at least twice a week. Kneeling clearly happening in the communion lines. Depends on the community, but 5 to 20% of congregants will kneel by my estimation.

Kneeling is very old-school and is not expected in most Catholic churches in the US.
