Cross country stars usually are tall with low body fat - hard to run blisteringly fast and not have a six pack for example. I can attest there are women that prefer that physique to the outside linebacker type. |
NO, NO, and NO. Women prefer soccer players over XC stars. |
A lot of this depends on the person. When I was in high school, a girl broke up with the high school quarterback to date me. I think I was a lot smarter than him, which presented as being a better conversationalist and more interesting to talk to. She was pretty high IQ, I get the average high schooler wouldn’t do that. She was thin in a good way too. Like attracts like I guess. The advice of pursuing the best version of yourself is sound across the board. If a guy has good social skills and is in shape, being a kickass oboe player probably helps too. You do know cute girls do orchestra too after all. |
I can't believe a discussion can turn so stupid. It might be true that - statistically speaking - more women are attracted to soccer players. That doesn't mean that your XC star struggles to attract women because the XC star does not compete with the soccer players for the same pool of women. Simple minds, simple thoughts. |
| I think grown adults sitting on their couches with their phones insulting high schoolers over their choice of extracurricular activities is pretty loser-ish behavior, personally. |
+1 Totally agreed. I believe "loser-ish" is not strong enough of a word. |
Obviously not. I’m responding to a PP (you?) who was implying that the further women’s sports deviate from men’s sports (or the further women deviate from men, I guess) the less right that sport has to be considered a “real sport” and the more right said girl has to call herself a “real athlete”. So I was making the point that even a so-called “real sport” like ice hockey (as opposed to volleyball per the PP) makes drastic modifications to the rules of the game as well as the safety equipment to accommodate girls and women. Because, as you may have realized by now, men and women are actually different. And for the record, I did indeed play ice hockey (club level only of course) in college. |

Our hobby is discussing sports on anonymous forums. You must be less of a loser because your exciting hobbies always keep you away from this forum. Wait... |
Not everyone considers badminton a sport. Some see badminton as recreational activity. It is so easy to say stupid things when you are clueless. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RE7GTL2U7vU |
+1. It’s also possible for high school girls to find more than one type of boy attractive at the same time. It’s not like Highlander, where there can be only one. |
This comment is so stupid that it deserves some mocking. Here we go: "I once went to park and I saw two people playing badminton. They didn't seem to put too much effort into it, they barely moved from their spot and they had to restart multiple times because they missed so much. Based on my unique experience, I have no clue why people would think about badminton as a sport. They likely don't know what they are talking about. " |
+2. I find a lot of different types of guys attractive and always have. That said, I actually genuinely prefer guys who are tallish and lean- always have. I do know my preference is probably less common, but everyone has their type. Silly discussion anyway, but wanted to stick up for the XC types. Yes- some women do like that build! |
This is the post you are talking about: I think you're talking about some other poster. This is my first post in this thread. "Volleyball can be as demanding as any other sport but it doesn't draw the same athletes as basketball does in this country, so you have to be really competitive to survive in basketball while a more moderate level of intensity can be enough for success in volleyball." |
