The Dems (especially Biden’s crew) have a very regular and very nasty habit of playing themselves when playing political games. Biden campaigned in 2020 on an improved COVID response and instead governed with a lot of politically convenient pablum that alienated the people who actually understood COVID’s societal risks. These people understood the limits of the vaccine, as it should be the last line of defense, and saw that the administration took advantage of the change in virus tropism to declare victory. COVID stopped causing the pneumonia, the proximate cause of death in the acute phase of infection, but COVID still severely damaged other systems, like circulation and neurology and brain function. This is a common even in supposedly mild infections. The idea that it’s just another respiratory illness is ludicrous.

Add Biden, Zients, Jha, Wallensky to a list with Fauci of careerists who forsook the larger issues to take, in the short term, the political heat off of them.

Biden succumbing to COVID would be the classical tragedy of an egomaniac fool ruining themselves with their ambition.
