Why are the pit bull boosters always so crass?

What was crass? Why are the "pit bull haters' so hysterical?

Nothing. happened.

Asking what to do if a violent animals snaps when you have no escape route is a valid question.

Assuming an animal you didn't even notice is "violent" isn't valid at all, and is a statement about your own overly-reactive, paranoid, delusional nature.

People like this probably cross the street when they see a black person too

Your arguments are stupid. Another poster here who isn't going to tolerate your pit bull. The dog should not have been in the passenger area. This is just more evidence that dog people suck.

This makes no sense.

It was not wearing a vest, no. I'm not sure of airline policy, though.

Service animals don't have to wear vests; per ADA there are no restrictions on the breed of the service dogs.
OP, you sound like a Karen, just chill and mind your own business

and yet, you are a tool. Not the previous poster.

This ability to hold on was bred into them, both purposefully by breeders and unintentionally, as the dogs that held on would survive longer.

Pit bulls are also noted for being very stubborn and strong; this, combined with their breed purpose, makes it difficult to shake a pit bull off. While other dog breeds may bite and let go, a pit bull is likelier to try and hold on.

They all know this. Everyone knows this. The pitt lobby does not care. There is no reason and yet here they are trying to make other posters out to be the crazies. It's absolute stubborn stupidity.

Even if the dog was so well behaved that you didn't even notice it was there?

We don't necessarily want to hear your children on the plane but, we all have to deal with things we don't want to deal with.

Human beings are different from dogs and you also know that. You're arguments in which you try to equate children with a dangerous dog is ridiculous. We value humans over animals and if that hurts your peta loving feeeewings tfb.

Service dog can be in passenger area, even if you don't like the breed of that dog. So, yeah, you would tolerate pitbulls on the same plane as you, nothing you can do about it unless there is county-wide restrictions on service dog breeds per ADA/ACAA.

I don't want to sit next to, behind, before a Pitbull in a plane, no matter how "well behaved" this animal is supposed to be. Even small Swiss army knives are not allowed in planes. Why on earth are owners of fighting dogs allowed to take their animal weapon onto the plane?

Because its not an "animal weapon" it's a medical device.

Only service dogs should be allowed in cabins, the rest should be put in cargo. If putting the dogs in cargo seems harsh, maybe muzzles and pet carriers might be a good idea.

Who cleans up after thee dogs when they poop or pee?

This was a service dog. OP didn't even notice it because it was perfectly behaved and quiet. Like a normal, trained, service animal.

It's not about comparing children to dogs, it's about rights of people with disabilities. That dog is medical device like it or not.

Uh no, it's completely false. Do a modicum of research and you'd know, but you refuse to see facts

People do suck - you and pps for discriminating against someone with disabilities. Service dogs are allowed in the passenger area. It doesnt matter if you dont like the "look" of the service dog, it's providing a service to the owner with disabilities. It was so well behaved you wouldn't even have known it was there. Stop trying to make this into a hysterical event.

I acknowledge the problem with pitbulls and I've been bitten by a dog hard enough to need stitches (not a pitbull). In the future, you can ask the flight attendant to move your seat or you can deplane. Dogs, even pitbulls, are not going to suddenly leap over the seat or run down the aisle to attack someone. I do understand not wanting to sit next to a dog though.

You don't know that. You don't get to state something as fact that isn't a fact. You can step off.

Right, because this happens all the time, and it's only ever something "pit bulls" do.

The dog wouldn't have been in the passenger area unless it was a service animal, which you're not qualified to evaluate. Your ableism is showing.

Yes, we know this. We also know they're no more likely to bite than any other breed, and don't have locking jaws, or any of the other nonsense y'all like to trot out at the merest mention that one simply existed quietly on a plane without incident.

The whole premise of this post is some crazytalk, even without the reputation of "pit bulls". Distilled, it's "I saw a thing I don't like that didn't harm me in any way, but what if it did?" neurosis.

A "dangerous dog"? It was sitting silently for an entire flight, unnoticed. There is no danger. Zero threat.

The threat exists solely as a hypothetical in OP's mind.

Exactly. Lot of ignorant, ableist jerks on this thread, telling on themselves, using the fact that the otherwise unnoticed dog may have looked "like a pit bull" to someone ignorant enough to view that alone as a hysterical event.
