Exactly. |
End of day: Alito isn’t going to recuse himself because of the actions of his spouse. Much ado about nothing. |
It’s not “much ado about nothing.” Just because the GOP is going to ignore this, like they’ve ignored everything else, doesn’t mean it’s nothing. |
It was not his spouse. Alito is lying and too cowardly to stand up. Typical of the Federalist Society. |
Wait but Hunter Biden.... |
He says she flew the flag in response to the neighbors' ugly and insulting yard signs. Not that she deliberately flew it upside down. ![]() |
![]() Oh, thanks for the laugh! Yes, I'm sure his ultra-LWNJ neighbors are simply paragons of virtue and goodness - true role models! Spare us all. No one wants to live next door to rabid nutjobs like his neighbors. |
This just gets better and better - a liberal insisting that we treat our country's flag with respect. Meanwhile, not a peep from you when other liberals burn our country's flag. The hypocrisy is so blinding it's painful. |
Well, they probably are not electeds or political appointees. They didn’t take an oath to defend the nation. Alito did and, effectively, his wife did too. |
What a spineless loser to blame it on his wife. Because what spouse living in the same house as their husband would put up a political protest flag supporting an insurrection without asking their public office holding, bold face name husband if it was appropriate?
It is sad that the only thing that surprised me about this story is that Alito lives in Alexandria. I was not surprised that he didn’t even think of recusing himself. |
+1. Cognitive dissonance. It’s totally fine for Mrs Alito when their elected officials use language not appropriate for children that makes the news worldwide. And that’s why she thinks hanging an upside down American flag after law enforcement officers were killed trying to defend the capitol against her insurrection cause is ok. |
Alito isn’t even smart enough to make a plausible lie.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/samuel-alito-t-even-lie-214146940.html After a New York Times story revealed an inverted flag was flown outside the home of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito in January 2021—for which Alito blamed his wife, Martha-Ann—a Fox News host stepped up to help the Alitos further embarrass themselves. “I spoke directly with Justice Alito about the flag story in the New York Times,” Shannon Bream posted on X (formerly Twitter) Friday morning. “He told me a neighbor on their street had a ‘F— Trump’ sign that was within 50 feet of where children await the school bus in January 21.” Twitter user Aaron Fritschner—deploying basic fact-checking that would make a Fox News host’s head spin—looked into the claim and found it doubtful. Multiple news articles from 2021 show schools in Alexandria, Virginia, where the Alitos reside, were operating remotely from winter 2020 well into February of 2021—a month after the Alito’s inverted flag was first documented. As the Alitos may recall, the COVID-19 pandemic shut down school bus operations. |
Fox News needs to fact check some of these statements with the Virginia board of DCUM. |
Is it? This man is essentially a demi-god, basically beyond the law and able to change every American’s life with his decisions and he doesn’t have the maturity to just grow up? He needs to try to punch down on a neighbor - who would probably prefer that this fascist sack of crap and his equal idiotic wife not live in their neighborhood - and in doing so signals that he does not believe in the American Experiment? Grow up, Republicans. You are all terrible people. Literally, you support fascism and authoritarianism and all of you just seem stupid. You can’t grasp simple concepts, let alone bigger ones. But you’re sure you’re the victims, always, but duck your feelings. |
And I am confident very few want to live next door to Justice A-hole or Justice T-head. |
