An annoying, off putting training is not the same thing as oppression.
OK, so when they say they want to hire fewer white people and ignore what white people have to say, that's not oppression?

Since they currently hire a disproportionately high amount of white people and ignore BiPOC people, correcting that is not oppression

Are you serious? Ignored? Last time I checked, Americans of all colors have handed over mic, and agreed to listen to this continued barrage of insults, while investing millions in hiring start-up DEI companies to teach/implement unproven, experimental methods that so far, have only made systems less productive and toxic.

RE your comment on disproportionate hiring, what would be acceptable? You do know the stats of America, right? That more people who live here are white and exist, isn’t a direct attack on POC.

Try expanding your narrow view on the world. The level of self-absorption at play is sickening and destructive.

White people are in the minority in MoCo.

Untrue. White, Hispanic, and Black are the three largest MAJORITY races in MCPS, Montgomery County and Maryland. Everyone else is a minority.

Disparity does not equal discrimination. There is a book with a similar title you should read. I will caution you though, it was written by a black man and I know that progressive ideology prevents you from disagreeing with him on that basis.

OK, now do: people in the US legally, with teaching degrees, who want to be teachers. Are white people in the minority of that group?

+1 This ^^^

Black teachers were fired en masse after desegregation of schools. White people have had government help to build wealth and get college degrees. But Black teachers are shown to be more effective for teaching Black kids. I get it, you just don't care. No worries,.many people do.

I can’t tell. Are you proposing resegregation?

I care about progressive attempts to discriminate against people today for the acts of people youwho shared their skin color 50 years ago.

And if what you said is true about black kids learning better from black teachers, it's clear that a greater effort needs to be made teaching black kids not to be so racist

Racism by teachers against Black kids is well documented.

I'm saying when schools were desegregated they fired all the Black teachers. In a better world,.those teachers would NOT have been fired during desegregation. Obviously, I am not proposing resegregation.

We live in that better world now. But progressives are trying to introduce laws and policies that would discriminate against white people as retribution for those past terrible actions that white people alive today had absolutely nothing to do with. This is progressivism in 2023

True, but that segment of teachers have long been in the ground, so would never have been part of today’s hiring pool anyways.

Black teachers of today who graduated between 1-40+ years ago haven’t experienced anything close to the women of that time. There was no existing fear of being fired and affirmative action would’ve been rolling hot during their school years.

If a group makes up 13% (or any number for that matter) of a nation, that number doesn’t always match up perfectly in occupational settings.

Sure, you could force groups of people into taking specific jobs to satisfy the stats, but I don’t think people appreciate being told what to do with their lives.

We’re in the US, not Russia.

"correcting" based on skin color is racial discrimination aka racism.

aka "I got mine now keep you hands off!"

Untrue. White, Hispanic, and Black are the three largest MAJORITY races in MCPS, Montgomery County and Maryland. Everyone else is a minority.

Those are the largest pluralities in the subgroups. Hispanic is first, white second, and Black third. There is no majority, because no race is over 50%.
