Please link to credible news sources that are not Twitter and are not RW, and I’ll take a look. Otherwise not interested. |
Both NBC and CBS covered this story last night, but why do we need a 'credible news source' when the Ways and Means transcript of two whistleblowers will do? There are 212 and 168 pages of transcripts released yesterday of sworn testimony that outlines these facts. https://waysandmeans.house.gov/smith-testimony-of-irs-employees-reveals-biden-irs-doj-interfered-in-tax-investigation-of-hunter-biden-revealing-preferential-treatment-for-wealthy-and-politically-connected/ |
Even if any of this is true (which it almost certainly isn't as literally everything the right wing says is a lie and a confession about their own corrupt dealings) what does this actually boil down to? Trump's DOJ exercised their right to discretion in prosecuting a case? Oh wow, a completely legal GOP own goal! And the "link" of Biden to Hunter's business dealings is a rich kid with a powerful father saying "you'll be sorry when I tell daddy!" That doesn't prove any link or that Biden had any knowledge whatsoever. I guess to the GOP some frat boy saying "do you know who my father is?!" when getting pulled over for a DUI means their father is now "linked" to the crime? |

On the day of the whatsap message from Hunter to Zeng (July 30, 2017), a photo surfaced from the laptop to prove Hunter was at Joe's home

Looks like it was shut down by Trump DoJ officials. |
| Too little, too late but better than never. |
+1 Doubting that Trump’s DOJ did all these favors for Hunter. |
\ By saying it’s Trump’s DOJ, you act as if they all loooveeed him.

CNN has no choice but to report the facts https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/22/politics/irs-whistleblower-hunter-biden/index.html |
"Whistleblowers say IRS recommended far more charges, including felonies, against Hunter Biden" Weird how RWNJs all of a sudden think one agency recommending charges is some sort of requirement for a different agency to prosecute all of them. Remember when Mueller laid out 11 counts of obstruction of justice for Trump? If prosecuting every potential crime the government suggests is so important, where were you then? |

Ok… so prosecutors disagreed on charges ( not unusual)
And…. Hunter plead to lesser charges avoiding a trial ( also not unusual) Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz |
From what I can tell from the timeline in the Ways and Means whistleblower transcripts, yes it was indeed the Trump DoJ that didn't think the cases merited going forward. |
