If you have a top student who chose GMU, how did you get over the comments/looks?

That's GREAT! I have a rising HS senior who is planning to go GMU too. He has a 4.0, so he would have other options. I've tried to suggest that he look at other schools too, but he's the kind of kid who makes a decision and goes with it. He isn't into the rah-rah-big-U football and fraternities culture. He's a computer geek. It makes life a lot easier for me (both in the college "search" process and the actual going-to-college process). Every college has it's pros and cons. I'm counting my blessings that we'll get to see him at least once a month. My friend has a kid going half-way across the country and I know she's already bracing for the distance and lack of interaction. YAY ... GMU! |
