What's something that you get really sick and tired of having to explain to people?

So annoying! Educate yourself before asking something so ridiculous.
I am not protein deficient now nor have I ever been in the 7 years that I have been eating WFPB. In fact, I can actually strength train and grow my muscles substantially(mind-blown).

If you called yourself a vegetarian instead of “WFPB” people may understand better.

PP. But I'm NOT vegetarian. I don't eat dairy or eggs. Whole Food Plant Based is the only way to describe how I eat.

Is that vegan? I think saying "mostly vegan" would probably be less confusing. I am a lifelong vegetarian who works in animal welfare and I never ever hear anyone describe their diet as WFPB and would actually have zero idea of what it means if you said it to me. So yeah I'd ask!

I've been vegan for 20 years - I have never heard that term before either. Does it make you more special because you HAVE to explain your diet to literally everyone??

I believe the opposite of this now that I've married into money.

Some of my ILs are the dumbest MFs around but are super successful because of name recognition and family money.

Is you MIL Paris Hilton?

Paris Hilton is actually a brilliant business woman, despite her famous name. She knows how to milk what people think of her into millions. Kudos to Paris!

I dont think you know what brilliant means.

Kids need both quality and quantity time with their parents. How a kid behaves is indicative of how the kid was parented.

The brilliant business woman is Kris Jenner. She capitalized on sex tape of her own daughter and made each of the talentless, ugly duckling daughters into billionaires. Other girls get pimped out and become pathetic women. K women have weathered all the storms, had kids, made their money, had plastic surgeries and have become fabulously famous and rich.

If you have a dirty house, the only way to clean it is if you have invited people over.

West Virginia is not west Virginia. It’s a completely different state.

NP. This is a good one. I think WFPB (which I'm trying to do-- aren't we all if we aren't already Veg/Vegan?) should not explain. Recently grabbed salad choices with colleagues and avoided the chicken salad (yuck) and a few other things, and one asked - "do you not eat meat"? Rather than going into plant based eating (and I DO eat meat sometimes), I just said "oh I eat everything but I'm really loading up on my veggies today". EASY ANSWER! I didn't have to explain anything. Maybe we can all try that!

I know this isn't what OP asked, but I became much, much happier when I realized I don't have to explain most things to most people in my personal life or personal experiences (like the MD PP said, work things are different). The only people I've ever "explained" this concept to is my brother, who lectures everyone he meets about any and every topic, and his daughter, who was venting to me about him.

They are anarchists through and through.

I always assume whole food meant no processed food. You can certainly be vegan and eat processed meat analogs, so assume WFPB posters does not.

NP. That people who bleat on about willpower and self-control with respect to weight are just dumb, manipulated stooges of the incredibly toxic but incredibly wealthy commercial food and diet industries that spend millions and millions annually to get the public to accept being poisoned by them.

I’m not obese, before one of those brain dead stooges comes at me with “UR OBESE” as their predictable response. And that shouldn’t even matter, but they are just so tired and predictable.

That ingredients are actually really important and to stop eating chemical additives, preservatives, especially if you have a chronic illness.
That yes subtle comments like making fun of Asians for eating different food is in fact racism and takes a toll on the individual over time.
That mental load is a real thing that many husbands don’t inherently carry or understand.

But tbh it’s not like the people who I feel need to hear this actually ask me to explain. It’s more that it’s just frustrating because they are not curious about it and don’t really want to know or for me to explain. It’s just hard when people keep complaining about health, or why people are complaining about discrimination, or how women just complain all the time and it’s like “if you actually care to understand then why don’t you get curious instead of judgmental?”

As a teacher, this is true.
