I sent my kid to board Deerfield thinking it would give him better chance. They had multiple admits to Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, MIT, UPenn. More than half were athletes.
Seeing the stats gives me pause, b/c if my child goal was just to get into the lower tier top25 we could’ve just stayed local. Unfortunately my child has no hooks. I’m seriously considering a private consultancy service to gain advantage in this hyper competitive arms race. It’s already 80k a year for tuition, not to mention time spent for child away us parents. At this point, what’s another 30-50k? Sigh |

| How come no U Chicago ED outcomes this year? Have they not announced yet? |
@bccdecisions23 Is Vandy super popular among different schools this year especially? What is QO’s page? |
|
U Chicago ED and EA results come out on the 21st. |
Nah, you're right. I think it's preposterous to think what kids post on social media impacts other kids. |

First of all, show me one 17 YO high school senior who is on Facebook. Of course it's about the mamas who can't handle the disappointment. And if your kid truly cannot handle seeing notice online of classmates' success, in the face of his/ her own bad news, then you, mom, have done a poor job in raising your child. My 17 yo Senior opened a FB account about 6 weeks ago to join admissions groups for colleges. I think there is an admitted students group for her ED acceptance. All of her friends also have accounts. |
Vanderbilts early decisions I’ve already been released so from this particular moment, I Snapchat is going to look like it’s a heavy Vanderbilt year. Maybe it will be. It’s an excellent school. |
| I’m pretty sure Brown’s early decision is out. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with that particular school. |
A lot of parents are really into gaming these systems and feel proud of it. Just look at how TJ admissions before the recent change. |
Varsity D1 athlete as well as rock star student. |
Sending a kid to a high school or boarding school does not give any better chance. At all. You have to think about it this way...the stats get you a ticket to the arena. However, the arena is full with 25,000 others who have the same or similar records and only a few will get back stage passes. So from the entry to the arena, it is a lottery to get back stage. There is really not much anyone can do to game that last lottery. |

You should’ve sent your child to Walt Whitman instead |
