100% tacky.

Very tacky. LOVE it!

The only tacky part is having them up this early (and then of course, taking them down on December 26th, when Christmas is just getting started.)

We have a big inflatable Santa high up in a treehouse. When people drive by they can see it through the woods. I wouldn’t want it in my front lawn.

Tacky and joyful!

I love my tacky inflatables, pre-kids, no way. But it brings my kids such joy; childhood is fleeting, so I'll indulge it while it lasts! I can see myself putting them away when they leave for college, but I won't throw them away, I'll keep them in the attic in anticipation of the Grands.

Thankfully I live in a neighborhood with very few of them.

Because a neighbors external decor impacts the overall neighborhood aesthetic. I wish my HOA had more stipulations on holiday decor. Not necessarily inflatables but limitations on how much one can have in the yard of any given thing. If noise can be controlled, loud visual decor should have similar restrictions as well.

Sure, as long as you abide by it too. In this case, it would be best to allow nothing for anyone besides a small list of allowed plantings because all else is subjective. What you think is tasteful, I might find gauche.

That’s why I said limitations— meaning no more than 1-3 items of any given thing. Height restrictions would be good too. One of my neighbors had a nine foot inflatable turkey during thanksgiving that gave me nightmares.

In 20-30 years, you will either be dead or pissing and pooing on yourself in some godforsaken nursing home; my advice is to lighten up in the present, laugh more, be good-natured, easy going, and let the good times roll because striving to appear to have good taste and keeping up appearances doesn't mean much in the end.

Thankfully I live in a neighborhood where they are common but not universal. They're fun.
I think it comes from having more immigrants and kids than PhDs and family trusts.

Do what you want to do. Just don’t have them collapsed and uninflated in the yard. Also taken the beasts down by New Years Day—-plueeeeeze! What’s tacky is leaving them up and out forever!Just don’t.

Tacky. In a bad way.
And I love about all other Xmas decorations.
