And she's a lot thinner than Nancy.

I felt bad for Nancy when her Spanx were sticking out from under her dress.
I missed this, when did it happen?

Do you have a fetish for seeing spanx?
Absolutely not.

Omg you can’t be that dense. It’s very common for Africans to go by initials due to their names being very long and hard to pronounce.

To add his name is Sikiru “SK” Alagbada. There is no anonymity in this show. They all have instagrams and many media appearances.

Sikiru is not at all difficult to pronounce. If we can pronounce Gideon and McKenzie, we can also pronounce Sikiru!

Very funny. You think so because you’ve seen the name Gideon before. I can assure you more than 60% of the people reading it in their heads still are saying it wrong. My niece’s name is Riki and is NEVER pronounced right. My friend’s last name is Carlyle and he’s always referred to by Mr. Carly. of They’re struggling with Zanab’s name. Are you really saying people are not allowed to go by nicknames?

I have a ton of severe learning disabilities and barely graduated from high school. I'd pronounce Riki like it rhymes with tiki hut. I don't know what's wrong with people not being able to pronounce Carlyle - maybe they're just rushing+stupid,? A friend of mine named Wendy told me people have a lot of trouble with her name too. I can pronounce people's names, because I listen and try. I ask when I need to. Sikiru really just isn't difficult. It's unfamiliar, but it's not hard to make the sounds that make up that name at all.

Do you know that the way you are saying it is the correct way? With the correct emphasis?

Do YOU? Do you know him personally so you've confirmed pronunciation with him?

No I don't. So I know I have no idea how to say his name and would not therefore presume it is 'easy' to say it

Exactly. I am thinking this PP’s severe learning disabilities are preventing her from grasping why many people (especially those from other countries where sometimes the letter i is pronounced 3 different ways) opt to use nicknames. Not to mention it’s none of her damn business and she’s being very weird about this.

I mean even Zanab is being pronounced Zinib by contestants including her fiancé. PP is really trying to make “SK” a big deal. I wonder if it was a white fraternity boy named JJ, DJ, RJ, EJ,or TJ, she wouldn’t have even mentioned anything yet alone imply there’s something malicious behind it.

VERY WEIRD, PP. Back off.
I noticed this too.

Re Zay I actually thought maybe this is like, how its pronounced? I mean Cole met her in the PODs and she probably introduced herself to him. Although I would have thought it was Zay-nab and her nickname is Zay.

Cole also pronounced Colleen's name funny though (COAL-een instead of call-EEN) with the emphasis on the wrong syllable so maybe he just has a regional accent that is making him emphasize the names incorrectly.

Agreed but even Zay’s stepmom also pronounces her name Zinib. All this does is reiterate earlier point that not every name is pronounced as it appears (especially from an Anglo perspective). It’s no wonder many people adopt nicknames or even change their name all together to reflect a more accepted American name. Hint to other PP, your nail tech’s real name is probably not Rachel or Sam but it makes it easier for them to go by those American names.

That PP should just eat the crow already and apologize.

Who would the apology be too? Anonymous people on an internet board who wouldn't dream of apologizing for anything here? Or to a guy who doesn't even know this discussion about his name is happening?
DP here, I don't think the pp meant for you to take that part about an apology, literally. Obviosuly she was just making a point.

Another DP. If it was proven I was wrong and likely held a wrong belief about something or someone so far off time and time again…and that belief appears to be based on a complete cultural ignorance, I would say “my bad, I was wrong” at the very least. That’s the problem with society these days. No matter how mundane something may appear, especially if you double down on ignorance, people refuse to stand corrected or have an ounce of humility.

Can we move on from the name/nickname thing?

I'm hating that Bartise's Instagram stories is full of him reposting people saying how they're so thankful he stuck up for the Down Syndrome community. Totally misses the point that pregnancy is a choice, and nobody she be forced to keep a pregnancy. He sucks.

Also, there is NO WAY he and Nancy can possibly be together while he's posting constant stories where is is the DEFENDER OF EXTRA CHROMOSOMES, essentially vilifying Nancy.

Good point. I'm surprised they don't have strict rules that they can't post anything that would even hint at the couple's status.

And also, didn't he even agree with her, or admit to understanding her reasoning, so therefore not some unbreakable warrior of pregnancy protection? But still reposts all of this praise? He's stupid.

I think we’ve already firmly established he sucks…

I hope Matt’s family sees his behavior and is appalled. He is a scary, angry dude.

I 100% agree. His instagram stories said that these episodes were very hard for him to watch back and that he handled the situations incorrectly. Meanwhile Bartise's instagram stories are full of kids with down syndrome. Doesn't mean Matt is not just smart enough to cover his tracks a little better, but I wonder if seeing that anger on camera will give him some self reflection.

I was watching last night with my husband and said "so he's abusive."

You're missing the point--deliberately? It's not necessarily that *his* name is that hard to pronouce, but many are. He and his brother obviously prefer to go by initials. My cousin goes by AJ--Anthony Joseph. Not because it's hard to pronounce.

I'm way behind compared to the rest of you, but how does one say they're a foodie and not know what sashimi is? So stupid.
