It's not a gun! It's a ball thrower. ! |
It's 3D printed! |
Bicyclists, even small children on bikes, are not required to wear helmets. |
Safety? An ebike going 30mph is not a bicycle. It's a moped that's breaking multiple laws. |
So, electric vehicles are actually bicycles? Great, I am buying a Tesla. No more stopping at stop signs! |
By your logic, a Tesla isn't a car and should have to be registered or follow the laws for motor vehicles. The larger point is the line between bicycle and motorcycle is becoming blurred. |
|
Insurance should then be required. Too many people have been injured or died from being hit by cyclists.
https://gothamist.com/news/pedestrian-dies-after-being-struck-by-cyclist-in-midtown Liability insurance to cover medical expenses should be a minimum. |
The cyclist received a ticket for running a red light. What more do you want? |
DP. They should obviously be prosecuted for vehicular manslaughter. Not to mention this hit and run murdering cyclists from last month. https://thevillagesun.com/chelsea-man-44-dies-after-being-struck-by-hit-and-run-cyclist-police Notably, after this cyclist ran a red light killed a woman crossing the crosswalk in DC the DC cycling community did not express any outrage, have a memorial or leave a ghost bike (should it be ghost shoes?). The cyclists also was not prosecuted in the end. Where was Vision Zero? https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/public-safety/woman-65-dies-after-being-hit-by-bicycle-in-downtown-dc/2017/03/10/326d83b2-05ff-11e7-ad5b-d22680e18d10_story.html The truth is that cyclists don’t care about pedestrians. They frankly don’t seem to care much about anyone but themselves. That would be fine except that we all need to share common right of ways and public goods. |
Yes that is a good idea. Also a tax for upkeep and maintenance of the roads. All bikes need to be registered, have an easily identified license plate and pay a yearly tax. |
Have you looked at past attempts to require bike insurance? On average, bikes do so little damage that it doesn't end up being worthwhile for anyone. |
Why do you think you can get away with lying about everything? https://waba.org/blog/2017/03/statement-on-the-death-of-jane-bennett-clark/ "That said, the same principle applies to bicycling as it does to driving: if you can’t see and react to a human being on the road in front of you, you are going too fast. Yield to people who are more vulnerable. This is not just the law, it’s how to be a responsible member of the community. It is your responsibility not to hurt anyone with your vehicle, whether you’re riding a bike or driving a car. WABA works hard to make sure that our region’s bicyclists know how to ride safely." |
Well it should not be a problem. |
You think that creating a useless systems that's another big bureaucratic hurdle is not a problem? So if my niece/nephew visit us in DC I couldn't take the whole family for a bike ride? You're a joke. Get yourself insurance for walking first. |
Where is her memorial as a victim of traffic violence? Didn’t care enough for that eh? |
