Either you're an extremely, extremely slow writer or just a bald-faced liar. I'm guessing the latter. |

Bicyclists hate having to stop at the end of each block for a stop sign because they think it's too physically tiring to constantly have to stop and start again. That's why they're doing this.
The safety argument (which makes zero sense) is just a fig leaf. |
And none of those accidents were the result of a cyclist pulling an "Idaho Stop" In fact, almost all of them were due to operators of vehicles not being aware of their surroundings when making a right turn. |
Well to be fair, when a cyclist take the lane as they are legally allowed to do, the cars stacked up behind them don't want to stop for the cyclist at each stop sign either. |
Sorry, should have been "typed this post," not typed this line. And I originally had three, but then a couple more went by, so I changed it to five. The only time cars stop at this stop sign is when more than one of them arrive at the same time. |
I am a different poster. I take walks in my neighborhood virtually every day. You can count on one hand the number of cars I have personally witnessed, come to a stop at a stop sign over the past three years. Take a little time on your feet and witness the glory of cars just ignoring stop signs at will. It happens all the time. |
How racist! |
It's ok. Everyone knows you're lying. Maybe try to come up with something that doesn't seem completely ridiculous? |
A cyclist yielding at an open intersection does not harm anyone. Cars not stopping can be fatal. |
Yeah, next time you're driving behind a bicycle, see how happy you are if the cyclist stops at every stop sign. |
Cars not stopping at a stop sign, totally ridiculous, I know! Imagine that. |
Now you're lying about lying? Sweet. I believe you said *five* cars did not even slow for a stop sign in the 20 seconds you spent writing a post, which makes no sense on so many levels. |
Pretty sure this has never happened so I guess we'll never know how a driver would respond |
I spent about 2 minutes with that post open on my laptop, because I was doing a couple of other things at the same time. During those two minutes, five cars blew through the stop sign without coming to anything approaching a complete stop. I never said none of them slowed at all, though at least one of them did not (it was turning right). I live a block from a major commercial corridor, and cars cut past my house to get there all the time. What is it that you think is a lie? That the cars existed? That they didn't stop? Do you really think every car stops at every stop sign all the time? |
Actually it is fully in line with making our streets safer, particularly for pedestrians, Bravo Council! |
