+1 and London theaters. Also schools and indoor sporting events. All of these mask optional experiments ongoing and doing just fine. |
what on earth does that have to do with masks. All Japan showed us was that prolonged stringent mask mandates do not ultimately work to suppress covid spread. They have fewer deaths per million because A. they're not as obese and sick as we Americans are, B. they probably have higher vaccination rates because they don't have MAGA antivaxxers all over, and C. when covid finally hit, it was with a less severe variant. |
And concerts, and conventions, and airplanes, and colleges . . . But the Kennedy Center and DC are special covid hotspots .
I have no dog in this fight as I have no plans or desire to go to the KC but their policy is ridiculous. |
everybody wears masks indoor. |
They were hit by the same waves and their motility rate was a fraction of US during every wave. Besides it is gross to comingle breath with strangers indoor regardless of covid. |
+1 Same for those who think it is “just a way for [Kennedy Center] to control people…”. How does that work, exactly? What is Kennedy Center controlling? For what purpose? What is the end goal? I’m stumped. |
| Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz |
Well many I know who flew this month or moved into a dorm also just got COVID. |
And since doctor’s offices still require masks, are they “trying to control people,” too? |
Anecdotes do not equal data. Random infections are going to occur. That's not the same as all of these places needing to shut down due to mass transmission. Its just not happening. |
Same. They've really ramped up their development calls since the vaccine and mask requirements went into effect, so attendance must be down. |
Either way. They require a mask. |
| Arena Stage is still requiring masks AND a vaccine. They also have a "my body, no choice" poster on their main page. https://www.arenastage.org/tickets/healthsafetyfaq/ |
This is what you come back to because you can’t actually prove the massive super spreading you keep alleging. |
It gets better, OP. Actors must wear masks too -- after all they are the ones directing their breathe towards the audience. It's a scientific fact. |
