What does slavery have to do with opportunity hoarding?

Merit based and hard working is NOT opportunity hoarding. White liberals use past oppressions of minorities to promote their evil agenda, which is to further boost white interest. TJ reform is a perfect example.

TJ reform opens access to hardworking, qualified students from all over the county.

We now have better representation from ALL middle schools. Not just the feeders. And we also have a class that looks more like the population of the county.

Who benefited most from these changes? Hardworking, qualified kids who are from economically-disadvantaged families. And hardworking, qualified kids who are URMs.

That's absolutely false! It actually closed doors for those who are most talented in STEM, which should have been the mission TJ education. This is like NBA draft will be purely based on the assessment of playing among the middle schoolers, not in the highest level of games.

That is demonstratively TRUE. All have met the criteria. They are top 1.5% of their middle school.

Yes, if only NBA recruited evenly from all the colleges, it would be much stronger. What a bunch of idiots!

The NBA and the public school systems have different goals and stakeholders.

Public school's goals include racial discrimination against Asians?

Asian students are still disproportionately OVERrepresented.

So…no.

Again, overrepresented by what?

By county population.

And here’s your racist response in 3 - 2 - 1.

why should we go with population, but no by merit?

It’s a school that serves the county. It serves the whole population. Not a subset.

The reform purposely eliminated granularity (such as admission tests and teacher's recommendations) so that the less competitive white people can benefit from the overall lower standards and increased randomness.

You are mental.

If telling the truth is mental...

I’m sure you believe it’s “the truth” in your altered reality.

Of course, the truth that your pea brain couldn't understand is an altered reality to you. Perfectly understandable.

Are you the clueless twit from earlier who doesn’t know how to do simple math?

Hey you clueless racist! Stop insulting the word of math.

It’s becoming clear why you need to prep your kids.

Can’t handle math, logic, or facts.

My kids are perfectly fine without the white privilege or prepping.

They should include having a math/logic/fact-challenged, racist parent as an experience factor. Might help them out.

Looks like you have very good experience with those within your racist family.

Not quite true.

True for students who are STEM-only. Very untrue for students who have genuine ability in other areas. TJ offers tremendous non-STEM opportunities that students don't take advantage of, and as a consequence get a chance to shine in sports, arts, and other areas that they wouldn't get at their base schools.

How many non-STEM kids go there?

I wouldn't call them non-STEM kids - I would call them STEM-plus kids. Kids who have a high aptitude for STEM but who also have other talents, interests, and passions that make them appealing to college admissions officers.

It's not FCPS's fault that certain subsets of the Asian population have chosen to segregate themselves into extremely concentrated areas. And there are other racial groups that have done the same thing in other enclaves around Northern Virginia.

This is actually really important. For the first time in recent memory, the female population at TJ cracked the 45% threshold, despite the split in the application pool being nearly 50-50 on a yearly basis.

And only 15 private school kids admitted. Way down from 51 the previous year. (Going from 10% to 3%)

Private school kids definitely took it on the chin, mostly because of allocated seats but also because of experience factors.

The good news is, most private school families have resources to obtain an exceptional education on their own, as there are no end of outstanding private schools in the DMV area.
