Of course! That's what happens when you aren't allowed to mount a defense. SC should overturn it as there's precedence from way back during Nixon's presidency.

I don't like Bannon but I don't like kangaroo courts more. We have to be VERY careful or it will come back to bite us as a party. This makes me very nervous. Bannon is not easily intimidated.

For those speaking about Hillary, she walked into a much friendlier situation.

Why the constant whining and moaning about how everything is so unfair. He had every opportunity to testify and avoid this. Choices have consequences.

Who's whining? I just believe in an equal application of justice. If you prosecute Bannon, you must prosecute those Dems that did same during Trump's presidency. That's it, that's all.

Do you think Bannon cares if he goes to jail? He doesn't. I think Dems are short-sighted on this and should have waited for a larger charge against him.

Which dems did the “exact same thing”?

Yeah, really want to hear what dems you're referring to?

Still waiting….

What is authoritarianism to you? Last I checked, Republicans want the power to be with the people, as per the Constitution.

Cool, so lets abolish the electoral college and use the popular vote. Power to the people, not the states!

Except that's the very definition of authoritarianism It gives the power to California and New York to decide who the president is.

That is *not* the "very definition of authoritarianism."

Plus, the whole issue here is that people and votes should matter. Not how many big but sparsely populated parts of the map you control, which is the only thing Republicans have. People should have the voice, not land.

Was the last time you checked in the 1800s?

No they don’t. They want the opposite. They want to negate elections when they lose. They want to control a police state that disenfranchises and persecutes groups they don’t like. They want every authority and every dollar to flow through their corrupt patronage network. They piss on the Constitution.

Umm. Giving CA and NY residents equal voice in the selection of a president is authoritarian now? Maybe you need a dictionary.

The IRS also stripped Bannon’s scammy “charity” of its tax-exempt status.

Bannon has been indicted in NY and will be surrendering on Thursday.

The precise details of the state case could not be confirmed Tuesday evening. But people familiar with the situation, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sealed indictment, suggested the prosecution will likely mirror aspects of the federal case in which Bannon was pardoned.

In that indictment, prosecutors alleged that Bannon and several others defrauded contributors to a private, $25 million fundraising effort, called “We Build the Wall,” taking funds that donors were told would support construction of a barrier along the U.S.-Mexico border.

This is just NYC. I hope AGs of the other 49 states prosecute him for wire fraud.
