I just keep thinking about what might have happened. The disappearance just seems bizarre to me (unless the police withheld some details). I did think it was odd that her ex let weeks go by without contact with her or the boys.

| I agree. It was haunting. |
| If you read the comments, the ex tried to contact her, and the boys now live with him and his parents. Totally bizarre and creepy, and I feel so bad for her family. |
| Agreed that it was a really compelling article and such a sad case. And I'm sorry to say this because it seems so cliche, but it really seems like an indictment of the media and society at large that there is endless coverage of (and interest in) criminal cases involving young white women and almost nothing on a missing young woman who happens to be black. I only read the story in today's paper, but I also wondered whether there was any possibility the ex was involved (too much Law and Order watching...) |
This. |
| So sad. I hope they find her. |
| Wow. This is so sad. |

| Such a sad story -- especially the mother slicing open trash bags on the side of the road, thinking they could contain her daughter's remains. Very strange. Sounds like the younger cousin heard a man's voice -- was a very dangerous neighborhood, but highly unusual to take someone without a struggle. She didn't seem like the type to run away. |
| The comments from her 6 yr old son, "I actually really miss my mom," are beyond devastating. |
I saw her mom on the news last night holding a vigil on the 1 year anniversary (and hoping to bring some attention to her disappearance). Had the circumstances been different, I'm sure there would have been daily nationwide media coverage for weeks. My prayers are with her family. |
Me too. A very haunting story. I feel that there must have been foul play -- I am thinking that someone used chloroform or something to knock her out. It is logical to winder whether the ex was involved. The article seems to have left out a lot of details -- what was the relationship with the ex like? Was she dating anyone here? What has the investigation into the ex yielded thus far? What is the relationship now between the grandmother and the ex -- does she think he was involved? It seems like they left those things out on purpose, maybe because the police are building their case against him. |
| I can't bear to follow the link. Her son's words break my heart. And ITA that is this woman had been an Amanda Knox or Natalee Holloway, the cables would be on life support for all the oxygen they would be expending on the story. |
| What a heartbreaking story. |
True. |
