Meghan Markle and Prince Harry News and Updates

People in this thread are nuts. Yes, physically, a miscarriage at 4-6 weeks usually isn’t that bad. It can still be emotionally difficult. But 6+ weeks? And especially as you head towards 10-12 weeks? Can be physically awful. Can be totally devastating. Yes, a 3rd tri miscarriage is likely to be much worse, but that reality is blinding some of you to the fact that, for most women, a miscarriage of an ultrasound confirmed, wanted pregnancy is still a huge deal.

Ugh, why are we comparing miscarriages? They are awful. Even a very early one that doesn’t hurt that much can be emotionally devastating if you have had issues conceiving or feel like you might be running out of time. It’s very understandable that MM would be upset and emotional about it. A lot of the people saying her MC wasn’t a big deal would also criticize her for taking it too lightly or being unemotional.

And yet! I still didn’t like the op-ed. It was poorly framed and tone deaf. I actually wonder if it was originally more of a confessional essay and either her people or the NYT suggested it would be more appropriate for the op-we page if it was pegged to current events. For me that stuff felt really weirdly shoehorned and made me uncomfortable. I think she just should have published it elsewhere and just discussed her experience and why she hopes people will share their experiences.

But the way it’s framed in the NYT tries to turn it into a public health issue and it’s not, really. MC sucks but is very rarely dangerous (like extremely rarely). And there is nothing to be done. We can’t stop them, we can only have empathy and kindness for people who go through them. I think there are better ways and venues for talking about that than this one.

This right here.

He probably thinks he’s OK, but that’s the fog.

Gosh, I remember when he said his family would be the family Meghan never had, how she would hit the ground running as a working royal, and then of course there was the private ceremony where she converted to the Church of England before the wedding for goodness sake. That was all ... just 2.5 yrs ago.

Harry is no victim. But it's easier to infantile the man and blame the woman

Different poster. Harry absolutely made his bed with this. He rushed through his courtship and when others questioned the relationship Harry doubled down. So I say he put himself here. That being said ... he was not equipped to deal with Meghan's level of manipulation at all.

NP here. I’ve been trying to make heads or tails out of this thread and I’m wondering if someone could just summarize why certain people hate MM so much? Did she do something specific? I don’t get it. TIA.

Take your pick

1. Outright racism - people actually compared her baby to a chimp
2. Low key racism - she took one of “their men” and is successful in a field not traditionally black (no one would be spewing this venom if she was a rapper or sports star or entertainer, but no, she’s dared to become duchess)
3. She’s not Kate
4. She’s ambitious
5. She wants money and the good life, but focuses her public profile on charity and activism, therefore she is a hypocrite
6. She likes attention, but on her terms
7. She and Harry bailed on the BRF and the UK and it’s all her fault somehow
8. Diana’s boy (almost 40) apparently has no mind of his own and is being manipulated by her
9. She had a miscarriage and wrote about it in the NYT (latest offense)
10. She didn’t cover her shoulders in the presence of QEII (also no pantyhose)
11. Her family, with the exception of her mom, is literally nuts (see father and stepsister and various sundry relatives on that side)
12. She held her belly too much while pregnant with aforementioned child

I’m sure there’s more. I’m personally quite indifferent to her and think her influence, like any member of the BRF with the exception of QEII, is limited outside the UK and maybe even there as well. But you’d think she murders puppies the way some people tear her apart.

My God, with the exception of the title of King, Harry has basically repeated history of his grandmother’s uncle. Fleeing to America with a divorcee and having to beg for an allowance. The hate and disdain for his fleeing just like it was back then. Ironically, the present Queen was the one to show a minimal bit of empathy for her Uncle that left to be an American playboy on the arm of his American actress who had carry nicknames for all the members of the Royal family. It’s uncanny. It’s like the followed the playbook.

Dumb women who married the first loser who asked always say things like this. SO many women were mad that William picked Kate. In their insane minds they think a prince would choose them over the person he actually chose.

Get over it, you're not marrying royalty. Or even entering aristocratically. Whine all you want but this is honestly a class that you just don't understand. Go ahead, tell us how your middle class southern salary makes you an expert here. I know. Going to SMU makes you think you're more important than you are. Try hard women with bad dye jobs really think they can pick at aristocrats. It's cute.

You’re projecting so hard. *If* Harry desires a large family, simply put, he married the wrong woman. Eric Clapton and Alec Baldwin are two similar examples who divorced, married a younger gal, and now have the large family they always desired.

Harry probably doesn’t want to repeat with his own wife what happened to his mother in the Royal family. I can’t imagine what he went through, losing his mother like that. He’s not really in line to be king. He probably wants to protect his own, young family.

It's weird, isn't it?

I hope they heal from losing this baby and have a second child if that's what they want. They're a cute family. I like them both and can't wait to see more about Archie.

How do British fertility rates compare with Californian rates?

Let's just be honest, Californian women are much more appealing.

For me, all of that stuff with her father and sister, plus lack of long lasting friends at the wedding. made me dislike her immensely.

Isn't that, you know, a little weird? I mean I think Ivanka Trump is an obvious sociopath with a sick relationship.with her father and who has probably indirectly caused the deaths of thousands, and yet I don't dislike Ivanka to anywhere near the degree of intensity I see in this thread for MM. It's ... odd.
