From Gerry’s view: The free trip to Italy -remember? It will cover the cost of a honeymoon.

Exactly this. She has a beautiful family and had a long and successful marriage. I understand wanting romance again, especially if you've only experienced one relationship in your while life. But rushing to get married before really getting to know someone, especially when there are significant red flags, does not seem healthy. They should have agreed to wait 6 months at minimum.

My MIL has been a widow for many many years and has the poorest judgment of anyone I know. She would never get married that quickly. Theresa is out of her mind.

She seems like she can handle herself. I imagine she would talk with a lawyer before to make sure her assets go to her children. Beyond that, what does it matter? She’s looking for companionship. He provides that.
