Cougar: What Age? Spinoff

So, 40? 45?
Or does it depend on the fellow. A 20-year-old might consider a 35-year-old a cougar. Slow day here at the working ranch. (I'm a WFHM.) |

I think probably around 40. But if you are a 38 year old trying to pick up much younger guys at college-type bars, you may classify.

Hmm.. I'm 45+ dh is 10+ years younger. He says I'll trade him in for someone younger...

But, I hate that term cougar. I think you also have to have a lot of money to be a cougar. I'm broke so I don't really feel I qualify. |

This always pisses me off. Where do they get off thinking you'd POSSIBLY be interested in them?!! That's a 14-year age difference. |

Maybe, but one is so much older than the other.
I think it says a lot about the power men still hold over our heads when they can get away with selecting much, much younger mates. Their need to be pleased and flattered is considered legitimate and we, I guess, are just supposed to just be glad somebody will tolerate our middle-aged asses, even if he's positively geriatric and even less to look at himself. |

I'm almost 38 myself, and I'm not disagreeing, but I think even "old" admits different degrees of "old".
60 year-old men should look for 60 year-old women, but they're not inclined to because they think they're too good for "grandma". Though they may be bloated old farts themselves, and they know they're too old for women functioning on full tanks of estrogen, they can't imagine themselves with their actual counterparts: the entirely estrogen-depleted. So they pick women who look "mature" but not ruined. Sounds fine, except these assholes forgot to check the mirror. What can I say, this arrogance pisses me off! it's not my thing, but I have to applaud women who can get away with challenging the double standard. |
