| If you are over 30! |
.. because you are 3x years old?
What ever, cougar. |
If you are mid-30's and hitting on recent college grads, that has to be cougarish. |
Uh, men who do that usually have something that makes them attractive to much, much younger mates. It's not just a Jedi mind trick. |

What age?
There's an App for that. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cougar-calculator/id330757864?mt=8 Or for DIY types, here is some source code: http://www.dreamincode.net/forums/blog/152/entry-2688-the-cougar-calculator/ |

Please..it a percentage thing, older's age/ younger's age gives you cougar factor. Anything over 1.25 is cougar. Example 30 year old/22 year old = 1.36cf
55 year old/47 year old = 1.17cf |

40's, minimum, but not all 40-something women fit the description. I think there's also a certain look (tighter clothes, more cleavage, more makeup) and the tendency to hit on younger men. I have some cougar friends. I'm 39 but will never be a cougar because I don't like young dudes. (I joke that I skipped over Cougar and went straight to MILF by having my kid.)
we joke that if you're in your 30's and hit on REALLY young men - like 23 year olds - you can launch yourself into Early Cougarhood. |

I'm 45 and have Cougar friends older than me. One is dating (FWB, let's be honest) a guy who is probably 24? She keeps badgering me to join the Dark Side, but I have no interest in dating a younger guy, unless it's only a few years younger. Even then, I'd give it serious thought first. I have my own hang-ups about the whole May/December thing, regardless of which gender is doing the cradle robbing.
My point is, who cares? If it works for both parties, who's to judge? It's not my cup of tea to be the older cougar or date the Crypt Keeper either.

| If you are over 30 and dating someone in their early 20's you are a cougar. |
So me (28) with a 24 yo is cool. Thanks! |
| ^^^Thats supposed to be 28. |
| See, I think true cougar factor has to do both with being older than a certain age (35?) and dating guys who can definitely be considered young. Age difference alone is not enough. I don't consider a 55-year-old woman with a 45-year-old guy to be a cougar, but my 39-year-old friend who hits on college guys is most certainly (as she admits) a cougar. |
Ditto! I've always liked dudes at least my age, or, preferably, five or so years older. No Cougarhood for me, either..
IMHO, a typical 'cougar' should be in her early 40s, childless, and very appearance-conscious. Kind of like Samantha in the first couple of seasons of "Sex and the City" |

Who the hell would want to date a younger man? Aren't they immature enough already? Not that I would want a huge age difference, but younger, no thank you.
Anyone find that women of a certain age hate them (as a woman)? Women 50+ have ALWAYS, as long as I can remember, hated me! So odd. |
