+1. No one is thrilled that a 66-year-old woman who probably drinks too much wine and definitely raised too many shitty kids herself has custody of yet another grandchild, but it’s still better than the alternative.

+1. No one is thrilled that a 66-year-old woman who probably drinks too much wine and definitely raised too many shitty kids herself has custody of yet another grandchild, but it’s still better than the alternative.

I think Ensely should have been placed in foster care. I actually like Barb. But I think having her take a 2-year old on top of raising Jace is unreasonable. I’m sure she feels guilty and felt she had to take Ensley.

She seems like a spry woman but taking a toddler on at her age is too much. Jace has had a lot of trauma in his life and Barbara has already said that he has ADHD and some mental health issues that were being assessed because he hears voices. Jace needs as much undivided attention as possible for him to grow to a successful adult. Adding Ensely to the mix, who is going to have her own challenges based on what she was experienced, is too much. Also, Barbara seems to always have another one of her grandchildren, so that is two kids already in her care.

It's a horrible situation all around for those poor kids. Foster care would absolutely be best for all of them. I mean if David had primary custody of Marissa I'd hate to see what her mom is like!

Janelle will never put her kids above herself. She never has, and at this point it's not looking good. Her man of the moment will always come first.

She also has a knack for picking the worst men. I was worried that Chelsey would pick someone bad after how she pined for Adam, but Cole is good people!

Yes, Jenelle’s sister’s kid is with Barb all of the time just like Jace is. He’s between Jace and Kaiser’s age.

Courts rarely ever resort to foster care for kids who have someone willing to take them. Even parents who are questionable get so, so many chances. I have seen so many kids that should never go home with their parents, but do. Multiple CPS investigations, multiple concerns. Yet the threshold to determine how bad home has to be for child to be taken away is so high. Similarly, when a loving family member (ideal or not) becomes a viable option, it takes a lot of questionable behaviors for a flag to even be raised high enough to make them start thinking about removing child from that custodian. Our foster system is completely overwhelmed. Kids don’t go to foster care just because their situation isn’t ideal.
