I don't know where you vote, but where I vote, in Montgomery County, Maryland, it is not possible to vote against someone. You have to vote for someone else. |
Yes, and? Your choices are: (1) vote for the incumbent (you can only do this in 2 of the 3 races) (2) vote for the non-incumbent (you don't have a choice in 1 of the 3 races, both candidates are non-incumbents (3) don't vote |
Sick burn, bro |
3 is a non starter. So vote for the devil I know or the devil I don’t know. |
Should I vote for the apple ballot candidate or SEIU 500 candidate? Which candidate will support our kids? |
Do your own research on each candidate as individuals, and decide for yourself. |
This. I used to vote w/ the apple ballot routinely. Now, when sometimes I actually know one or more of the candidates, I find that my opinions often differ w/ the union's opinions. And teacher's opinions often differ w/ the union's choices. It takes way more time to do the research on the individuals, but it's really the only way I can feel confident in my choices. |
The League of Women Voters candidate forum is a great source of information for you to use in making your decisions. |
I was told the last time I voted that apple ballot candidates were the best candidates for teachers. Now, those very apple ballot candidates aren’t being endorsed again. Should I trust the apple ballot picks this year? I’m confused. |
If you're referring to the 2020 election, the only candidate the Apple Ballot endorsed for BOE that year was Sunil Dasgupta, who lost. |
Shebra Evans was also an apple ballot candidate |
Not in 2020. |
Right - it was the one before that. Both Evans and Smondrowski were endorsed by the union apple ballot that year |
Why is Lynne Harris trying to replace her colleague Shebra Evans with Laura Stewart? |
Why is Chappell Roan trying to promote Charli XC over Joy Oladokun for a Grammy award? |
