GA Case

Legal analyst Caroline Polisi flatly declared on MSNBC that new testimony contradicting Fani Willis’ claims about her relationship with a colleague was “game over for her” in the election fraud trial against former President Donald Trump.

Polisi, who frequently appears on both MSNBC and CNN, did not hold back on how bad a day this is for the Fulton County DA.

“Don’t let the legalese fool you,” she opened. “This is epic. This is monumental. If things are going in the direction we think, Fani Willis lied to the court, it’s game over for her. She will be disqualified. If they had a relationship prior to when they represented truth to the court, it’s a huge deal. I can’t overstate.”

How could Willis have lied in court when she hasn't even testified?

Some of the defendants in the GA case are charged with making false statements and filing false documents.
If witnesses can prove that Willis and Wade lied under oath, she absolutely needs to be removed. And, prosecuted for lying.

So far, there i no proof that Willis has lied under oath. Wade may have some tax issues given his non-business charges on this business credit card (unless he paid those portions of the bill from personal accounts) but beyond that, this is a total nothingburger.

Willis herself hasn't even testified or submitted an affidavit. Only Wade has.

Hence my point, there is no proof that the DA has lied under oath. This whole thing is a hail mary to try to get the DA's office shut down so the case against Trump is delayed or dismissed. The facts here have NOTHING to do with that case whatsoever.

Yes, there is evidence.
A witness testified that the relationship started before Willis hired Wade - a direct contradiction to what she has said in an affidavit.

Yes, there is some evidence of that. But some evidence isn't enough. The burden is on the moving party. All they have is the testimony of one witness who is carrying a grudge. And that's up against the testimony of Wade (who obviously has his own motives). Also pretty relevant here is that they have all his credit card statements that show they were clearly taking trips together in 2022 and 2023, but not a single trip in 2019, 2020, or 2021. Seems odd if they wouldn't take any trips during the first 3 years of the relationship and then suddenly start in the 4th year.

Yes.

A friend of Willis' from college just testified that the romantic relationship between Wade and Willis began in 2019 and continued through 2022.
Her exact words were "No doubt."

Wade is taking the stand now.

The "friend from college" also worked for the DA's office and was forced to resign in 2021 due to poor performance. And couldn't recall any specifics of conversations or observations when asked. Not a credible witness.

The "poor performance" accusation is questionable, given it came from Willis' office.
She did recall specifics.... hugging, kissing, showing affection.

Yes, the DA's office fired her in 2021 for poor performance so that she would look non-credible in a hearing on an unrelated issue 3 years later.

Is she a lawyer under oath in a court proceeding? That other stuff shouldn’t matter.

Wade is a lawyer under oath in a court proceeding too. Are you going to believe everything he's testifying too? That's just dumb. Motives to lie and shade the truth matter and are fair game.

Has he testified yet?

He's on the stand right now. He said the romantic relationship started in early 2022. So we have to accept that as truth right? Can't examine whether he might have a motive to lie? Or his demeanor? Ability to talk to specifics?

He did not disclose the trips he made with Fani during his divorce proceedings. He claims that he was asked to provide any "receipts" for trips, gifts, food, etc. for other women. He said the STATEMENTS he later filed were not "receipts." Semantics.
Sorry, Nathan Wade is not credible. So, he destroyed the receipts and neglected to file the other evidence in order to maintain that there was no romantic relationship.

The reason that you are analyzing someone's credit card bills in an alimony proceeding is because you are desperate to see Trump avoid jail time.

Did his affair begin after the marriage was over? Yes. Does his STBX want more $? Possibly. Is his life ruined because he had the gumption to prosecute the former and future president for crimes? Absolutely.

More pertinent question.... did their affair begin BEFORE she hired him. Evidence and testimony indicates it did.
Did she profit from hiring him?

He claims that Fani Willis paid him back - in CASH - for all the trips. Do you believe this? Thousands of dollars paid in cash?

So? You're alleging that his payment for work is problematic - but it's not. Payment for work is fine, even if you are spouses or affair partners or whatever.

No, I am alleging that HIM paying for HER expenses on several trips indicates that SHE profited from hiring him.
He clearly knows this is an issue since he claims SHE paid him back in cash - which no reasonable person is buying.

That is his testimony. If he is lying, then so be it. No proof of that to date.

Besides, a married couple, the Merchants, who I assume sleep together, as Attorneys on the same team, are trying to disqualify Attorneys for having a relationship. Go figure.

If Fani paid him back in cash, then her bank statements should indicate large withdrawals around the time of the trips.
Bet those don't exist.

And, you cannot possibly compare the Merchants' relationship to one in which a DA is actually SUPERVISING her lover.
You are reaching big time.

DP. Whether they are in a supervisory role or not, whether she repaid him at any point or not, so? He did the work, he got paid for it. You're making up this nefarious interpretation of money paid that is nonsensical.

And the reason why you are imagining all of this is obvious. You are (for some reason) desperate to see that Trump avoids jail time for his crime. I'm not going to accuse you of being a Russian troll. Unfortunately I don't believe you are. But it would be nice if you were.

Good Lord.
Take Nathan Wade's testimony as evidence that him paying for her trips and expenses is significant.
If it weren't, he would not have gone out of his way to claim she repaid him.

Indeed. I have a hard time believing in this age of Venmo that she was in the habit of reimbursing him with cash.

Fani Willis and Nathan Wade ended their personal relationship in June of 2023.

Talk about a smear campaign.

Kind of important detail just came out- they broke off the relationship last summer. That should be the end of this charade.

And that is part of the irony. Fani prosecuting for false statements and documents while doing the same. On top of getting kickbacks from her boyfriend that is being paid with government money.

That a tangled web she wove.

He clearly said his accountant reviews all the statements to determine which charges are business and which are personal.

How could Willis have lied in court when she hasn't even testified?

She submitted a court filing. Is one not required to tell the truth on these kinds of filings?

When did she submit a false statement to the court?

So right about the time the case was heating up and getting national attention. They realized they couldn't keep up the relationship so they broke it off.

Now y'all can go back to complaining about something else. Right?

A lot of us weren’t taking trips in 20-21. Covid.

A lot of us got vaccinated in May 2021 and started taking trips that summer.
