It’s so weird.

Why is it weird that a group of kids who were together were in close promixity to each other? They weren't all right together or surrounding her One was off in the background, one was on another bike, one was in front of the bikes recording, one was beside her. I don't think they were there specifically to come to his aid but because they were a group of friends together and most friend groups are close together when out in public and one friend is dealing with a situation. Where would you expect his friends to be? Do you have teens? Do you expect them to all stay far apart or scatter if one of their friends is dealing with a situation?

Also evidenced when she walks away from said bike to rent a different one at the end of the video.

The video is his receipt.”

That makes no sense and is just more obfuscating and gaslighting, but ok.

The video is his receipt. You can’t make this sh¡t up.

Honestly? I’d expect one or two of them to say, “come on man, how about you just get a different bike? If you’ve already paid for that one, redock it and get a different one and let’s get out of here. It’s not worth arguing with this lady.”

Question is where is this young man and where is his receipt?

Exactly. It looked like there were 5 men but not all were partaking in incident as the one was just there not engaging and looking at his phone.

I would hope my teen, and these men don't look like teens, would say, hey, let her have the bike, let's contact customer support and let them know to cancel my transaction and get another bike. I would hope they would not make that kind of remarks to a woman about her baby and if my teen did, I'd be furious and they would be apologizing. I would hope my teen would not allow their friends to abuse a woman like that who was just trying to get home after a long day at work.

I’m curious as to why Monique won’t admit she could be wrong. It’s baffling.

Didn't one of them say "it's not worth it?" The one in the pink hoodie.

And yeah beware of being framed like she was.

I thought that was odd too that she'd be biking in NYC without a helmet, but that's pretty normal stuff in NYC. Either way, she was attacked and framed. I would suspect biking was the quickest/easiest way home.

The pink hoodie guy was trying to stay out of it.

Ok. I'm just going off memory. I'm having a hard time finding the video since the one in the first page of this thread has been deleted (by the twitter user.)

Maybe they sent it to one friend or posted it on one of their social media pages with 10 followers. Maybe they hashtagged it Karen and one of the many sites that troll for viral videos came across it.

The account that posted the video and started the spin about what happened is https://twitter.com/Imposter_Edits. He is still posting about it but has changed his tune.

The young men are likely in hiding as well. Like on here I am sure there are many others desperate to identify them and drag them into similar hate filled online mobs that went after the women. Their lives would be in danger if they were to be identified and the woman involved has said via her lawyer she does not want them going through what she is going through.

Of course one of them either posted the video or shared it with someone who posted it. Otherwise, how did it get online?

I was commenting on the post that said that 4 or 5 friends together is weird and that sfee couldn't understand why there were 4 or 5 teens together. How they could have handled it or what they could have said is a different story.

I visited that guy’s Twitter and this is what he posted:

“It turns out City Bike allows you to rent a bike by entering a serial number directly into the app. I went through the entire process myself and the only thing stopping me from renting that same bike was geolocation. Anyone in the NY area could produce a canceled receipt for that exact bike from their couch without leaving home.”

So is that admitting he was wrong? As someone who has never rented one of these bikes, I'm confused by the whole thing.

I was a poster who really believed she was in the wrong after watching the video. Her behavior did not seem to match anything I've seen from victims or experienced as a victim myself. Obviously I was wrong.

I don't think you can predict how you will act in a difficult situation. She was coming off a 12 hour shift, 6 months pregnant and not expecting to have drama over a bike to get her home. Common sense would be hand over the bike, especially when you don't own it but she probably wasn't thinking it through at the time and just wanted to get home.
