I've put on some weight since getting married and have decided to commit to taking it off. I haven't been married THAT long but it still happened. How have others weight changed since getting married? Anyone willing to share?
Could you start off, let us know how long you've been married and how much weight have you gained....
7 years, 30 lb, 3 kids (12 mo, 3, 5). Weaning now and will tackle weight loss once baby is no longer nursing (turned 1 on Tuesday).
And how old you were when you got married too...
7 years too, married at 28, 2 kids (1 and 3). Weigh 5-6 lbs more than when I got married, but am in better shape now, if that makes sense. Go to the gym much more regularly and lift weights.
36 when married. maintained weight until after baby #2 (and last). Gained 20 lbs; currently working on removing it as baby is now 6 and in school I can now go to the gym after work due to a great aftercare program at the ES. btw, DH gained a lot more than me! he is also working on losing weight.
Married at 38, married 3 years, weigh what I did when I got engaged but about 7 pounds more than when I got married (lost weight for the wedding). One toddler.
Married 21 years and have gained 25 pounds. Now age 52 with three kids in elementary school and a dog in addition to DH. |
Married at 26. Married 7 years. About 17 pounds over when I got married but I'm 3 months postpartum with our 2nd. Expect to be back within 5 pounds by 6 months postpartum. Even with the extra baby weight I'm in much better shape. I run and lift weights regularly.
Married at 26, married 6 years, have gained 25lbs after 2 kids (#2 is only 6 months) and hoping to get it off as soon as DC#2 is a little older.
married at 28. No kids. married four years. +17 lbs.

I've been married 7.5 years, same weight. Gained about 26-27 pounds with both pregnancies but lost if fairly quickly through BFing. I have a naturally fast metabolism though. I do eat healthy and exercise. I'm 36 so we will see what happens in 10 years! My mom was always tiny like me but put on some weight during menopause and is having trouble losing it.

Married at 28. Been married 10 years, been pregnant three times. I've gained 60 pounds (but I've also gone through menopause in the past three years, which added a large part of that). UGGHHHHHHHHHHH.

Married at 29. I weigh ten to twelve pounds more than I did then depending on the day. I lost a bunch of weight before the wedding (nerves, I guess). Married 15.5 years. I weigh 5 pounds less now than I did when I got pregnant with #1. My "high water mark" for weight is about or slightly more than my DH now weighs (he also bounces around about three pounds depending on the day). Of course, that was when I was pregnant with #2, and he weighed more then, or I don't think my psyche could have handled it!
Married at 26, been married for 7 years. Two kids, youngest 18mos. On my wedding day I was 145lbs. Peak weight exactly a year ago a disgusting 173. I'm down with a lot of hard work to 153. I fully expect to be down to 145 again before Christmas. I could do it fast, but am lazy with my eating. Running also makes weight fall off me and this lousy weather has stalled that.
