Official Brett Kavanaugh Thread

Anonymous
I'm a mom of a teen boy and a girl. I worry that he might one day be falsely accused of sex assault. I know false accusations happen. I also worry that my daughter could one day be assaulted like this. I was groped a few time as a young adult and in HS. It was gross but I never reported it because it was embarrassing.

HOWEVER, all the stories coming out about Kavanugh's behavior while drunk and the wild parties he attended makes me think it's possible that he did in fact do this terrible thing.

I don't read this as saying she was raped *specifically by Kavanaugh or Judge*, but that they were at the parties and were part of the culture there. All of which is gross - but is not the same as saying Kavanaugh himself is a rapist. More than he was part of a disgusting and entitled group of boys, some of whom raped.

I worry about Avenetti. On the one hand, he seemed to do right by Stormy. But he does seem to be acting a little bit clever here. I believe this woman that girls were raped at these parties, and that Kavanaugh and Judge were at the parties where girls were raped. I worry that Avenetti is trying to imply Kavanaugh did the raping without coming out and saying so.

Agree we must be precise, but her statement DOES say she saw Kavanaugh and Judge spiking punch and things of that nature, in addition to the actual sexual harassment of female peers at those parties, so it's pretty bad whether or not he actually raped them.

Ok, this thread has gotten way too long. What is this latest claim? Can someone refer me to the page on the thread that discusses this? I don't see anything on CNN about Kavanaugh spiking girls' drinks.

Lol. You have no idea how much he did or didn’t drink. This whole thing is bullshit. He’s qualified and will be confirmed.

can't believe you're a real person

I am and a woman and a Democrat who voted for Hillary. Also a lawyer. This campaign is transparently political and the allegations are drafted to be vague guilt-by-association nonsense with timing that is ridiculously and transparently politically-motivated. It’s a campaign to discredit him based on him being at parties where bad things may have happened. You are a sheep and a part of the brainless mob for believing this stuff.

Thank you. It is ludicrous.
So, what is her evidence? Dates? Witnesses? Proof?

It hasn't even hit the major news sites yet and you're discounting it because additional information hasn't been presented? I think it's pretty clear that you've already decided what you will and will not believe regardless of what is said.

LMAO. Go ask Jeff to check my IP. I posted tons in favor of Hillary. Is it really so unbelievable that I can think for my damn self and see that this campaign is vague and baseless. I’m a woman who can think for herself, thank you very much. I read and think critically and can see this latest #metoo campaign for what it is.

To be clear; her statement says he was present, not that he was a rapist.

Carefully crafted by our creepy porn lawyer.

It really says not too much more than guilt by association. What did Kavanaugh individually do? Maybe she’s got nothing on that, and they are trying make him guilty by association. That way, she’s not technically lying and she gets to keep her security clearance.

Who cares? Kavanaugh has also had multiple security clearances. But presumably you don’t believe him. These statements are unverifiable anyway so she can say whatever she wants. There are no consequences.

His own calendar shows that he lied about excessive drinking and going to parties, and did so on national tv. Those elements alone disqualify him.

Lol. You have no idea how much he did or didn’t drink. This whole thing is bullshit. He’s qualified and will be confirmed.

Well, an investigation by the FBI could just clear this all up now, couldn’t it?

Anyone can say whatever they want, based on their political leanings, and it’s all unverifiable. That’s the point. No, the FBI will not be able to establish what happened at a party in the 80s.

Exactly.

Of this was true, the priest molestations cases would not have been resolved and cold case units wouldn’t exist.

You know what guarantees uncertainty? Not investigating.

In my mid-size southern town there were these types of house parties every weekend at the homes of rich kids whose parents were away for the weekend. I find it entirely believable that a girl from a local public school would be treated differently (and as prey) by boys in this social class from the way the boys would treat girls who went to sister private schools.

+1000 I grew up in an affluent suburb of Fairfax County and this kind of shit went on every weekend. I also witnessed it at parties in Ocean City during Beach Week. We knew not to go to them, and if we found ourselves at one, to not let a guy near our drinks. I've had friends who tried to tell their parents about this and nothing was done or they were told that they shouldn't go to these parties. It was usually a group of guys from affluent families who would get the kegs for these parties and have them at various houses in the area. Word got out about them.

I'm sure there will be more witnesses coming out about this latest claim!

I grew up in FC as well. This $hit never happened in my circles. NEVER.
So, I guess you all are finding him “guilty” because of your experiences?

DP I grew up in FFX county, like you this stuff also never happened to me or people I know of, and I believe these women.

Call the FBI. They have a pretty good track record on investigating alleged crimes. What is wrong with that option?

Let’s lay it on the line: how many more victims do you think the FBI would be able to uncover if they investigated it? Grassley already knows. Graham knows. McConnell knows - he may be a slimy turtle, but I think that man knows the gossip, and Brett’s teenaged criminal proclivities sound like they followed him well into adulthood. They know. Their constituents don’t know. And the lying gas lighter on here and elsewhere have plausible deniability. They won’t when the FBI is done.

At a minimum he is a glib liar. His attempts to whitewash his teen years are a bridge too far.

What the Hillary-voting poster says is essentially true and I don't why people are not believing her. Where I differ with the poster is that what she describes is a bad thing. She obviously favors a totally fact-based legalistic approach. I don't think the Republicans in the Senate care about facts and facts would be lost on them. So, while a legalistic approach might be honorable, it would also be a failure. The one way to defeat Kavanaugh it to do so politically. If that means "guilt-by-association" wherein the association is with gang-rape, I am perfectly comfortable with that. If Kavanaugh wants to admit to teenage indiscretions, so be it. But, lying about it makes him unfit for the court.

The affidavit is online. What should I be waiting for? You don’t think waiting for literally the day before he testifies shows how politically motivated this campaign is? Sorry, the man was nominated long ago and has been sitting on the bench of an important court for years. This is total bullshit.

They are attempting to connect his client with the FBI.

Senate Judiciary Republicans have responded to Michael Avenatti

From CNN's Ariane De Vouge

Republicans on the Senate Judiciary committee staff have responded to Michael Avenatti, who is representing a third Brett Kavanaugh accuser, in an email.

The Republicans said that committee investigators have "immediately started looking" in the allegations, according to a committee source.

In the email, they ask Avenatti if his client is willing to speak to investigators and asked him when his client is available.

They also provided Avenatti with a list of FBI field offices.

Democratic staffers were copied on the Republican’s email to Avenatti.

What are "all the stories" about Kavanaugh's wild behavior by drunk? I know about Christine Ford's obviously and the lady who says she saw what she believes to be BK's penis in her face in the Yale dorm room, but what other stories have come out?
