You aren't paying attention at all if you think GFR is on the downslide.

I believe I am and all I hear and see are headwinds (lawsuits, firings, hiring bad coaches, coaches leaving for rogue random startups for the over privileged like Riverbend, no pathway, shall I continue.) What are the tailwinds?

Well, they literally just hired a new ED so give them a bit. The lawsuits were all allegations about the former ED so I imagine those are dead now but sounds like they were all dropped/settled anyway? I think only 1 coach left for Riverbend and he was a dad coach who has only ever coached his kids team so not exactly a huge loss to GFR. GD left but that's a good thing. Who is the bad hire? I haven't heard of any official new hirings yet. As for a pathway, that's not really something I care about - if my kid is a good player they'll make an ECNL/GA/MLS next team - I don't need a pathway through GFR to get them there.

Lol - We thought you had new information to disprove that GFR is on a downslide. Maybe read more and post less.

read what? this board? yeah, no thanks, i've spoken to our kids coaches and they are very positive about the new ED and the changes she's making so you can be negative if you want about gfr but we are happy about what's happening there. i know that positivity doesn't generally vibe well with this board but i think it is worth noting.

Great comment ^.
We are very positive that the new ED seems to finally be aligned with the TD - when was that last time that was the case at this club? This will be extremely refreshing and should trickle down positively at all levels for both girls and boys.
Previous ED is still with the club, so couple that salary with the newly created Strategy Director's salary and that is at least an additional $150K a year that was unaccounted for, surely contributing to the forthcoming increased fees.

I see someone has a new "increased fees" talking point from ML, haha.

Nope. The Old ED has no new job at GFR - I was told by our coach he has no role other than coaching a team or two and will be gone by the end of the Spring (coach is not a fan so is happy about this lol). Strategy director was hired as an advisor to the old ED part time so doubt it was for a ton of money and it was temporary. Maybe new ED has a lower salary than previous as well since she is new to this role/club? Either way, there's no way they added $150k to their payroll under PA - she was the finance person at MYS so I'm sure she has a better grip on spending than RS did!

GFR is on the right track and finally has a good individual development and possession approach to coaching at younger ages, at least in the girls side. I am happy with the direction of the club and excited. I know there are some disgruntled fans of RP/KB/Super Mario and some NM haters on the boys side who want to stir things up but having a new ED and aligned TD is great and things are looking up.

The Riverbend guy? They won't even announce what league their teams are going to play in. Please.

had fall out with FVU
u mean was a scape goat for fvu.

Is he really the scapegoat when this is the 2nd year in a row of him quitting mid-year. Seems like more of a trend with this guy.

There's been a lot of drama/changes in the DMV in the last few years especially at the 2 clubs he was with (NVA and FXU) but prior to that he was with MYS for many years so I will chalk it up to issues outside of his coaching and give him a chance if he ends up with my kids team.

NO ANNOUNCEMENTS LOL

Not an announcement.
Not a reveal.
Just a reminder that something real is almost here.
Rooted on the ground.
Rising from the river.
No countdown.
No noise.
Just momentum building quietly in the background.
If you know, you know.
If you do not—stay close.
