No. We hate BF because the parents cheer the game like it's life or death for them (more so tha for the kids). It's high school sports for pete's sake. Wins, losses, etc. don't matter- unless you peaked in high school as a person.

I believe this is a large contributing factor and extends to how they brag on this forum. Battlefield parents need to take some accountability for creating the dynamic.

Best response so far. There are some fantastic teams full of killers in this area and basically not a word about them on these lacrosse forums. Why is that? Because their parents don’t use DCUM to blab on about it. It’s been going on for years with certain of the BF parents and it’s annoying.

100%! The BF bashing didn’t start this year or last. This has been going on for years because BF parents chose to use this forum to elevate their teams to champion status w/o having won one. Every year the tune played like a broken record, “this is our year, so watch out world!”

My daughter was fortunate to win a state championship. Not once did the players or parents feel the need to hype themselves up on this board. They played it on the field, winning with grace and quietly celebrating amongst themselves. They never hyped themselves up for the next year.

I’m sure it is only a few BF parents posting this nonsense, but this is the reputation created for BF during the years my kids have played lacrosse. It continues today. BF parents put the bullseye on the players and team, which isn’t fair to them. Word to the wise, I have a daughter who played at the highest level of D1. I am aware of players who were not offered at programs because of their parent’s behavior. Don’t ruin it for your kids. Sit back, relax and cheer everyone on.

^ and this response is exactly why this is the greatest forum ever and parents whose DDs no longer play high school continue to post about about how great a player their daughter is (“Word to the wise, I have a daughter who played at the highest level of D1.”) and how you should listen to them because of some deranged sense of superiority. It’s gold, baby, GOLD!

+1
highest level? Northwestern? NC? BC? At some point to get to that level “Mommy Dearest” wasn’t cheering everyone else on…amazing hypocrisy.

Good news for the BF parents, you won’t have to worry about this with kids playing for the 60-70th ranked club teams. For parents who had or have kids playing D1, please keep sharing your wisdom.

This scores 3 squares on the bingo card! “my D1 kid was better than Charlotte north and the rest of you bow down now!” Add in some keyboard cowboy bravado for another square on the card! There’s multiple cards at this bingo night here and the posts bashing kids, girls, parents, schools gets a special bingo card!

Almost forgot, double square for bashing the girls clubs based on a club ranking. Bonus if the comeback is, “my D1 DD played for a top 25 team”

Anonymous wrote:Great game between YHS and WA tonight! The girls played their hearts out and left everything on the field. Could have gone either way. I’m happy that YHS won, but much respect to WA players, coaches, and fans. I wish you all the best the rest of your season. Talented, classy bunch.

Who did YT faceguard tonight?

I don't live in Arlington but when I read this the first adjective that came to my mind to describe you was not kind.

That’s cool. Could care less about you. Was legit question as it’s a strategy YT uses almost every game.

Ya care a little bit.

Not one bit. But keep commenting loser

You seem very angry.

And you seem like a douche bag. Happy to meet you in person if you want to stop hiding behind a forum.

Go ahead and tell us your name if you are so sure of yourself. I'll respond. However, I recommend caution and you stop letting me screw with you.

Attention, Attention!! Clear the way, we have a badass in our presence!

If we can move beyond fight club, here is a thought for a new Class 6 top ten:

1) Yorktown
2) Langley (only losses in last 10 are SSSAS and YT)
3) Battlefield
4) Madison
5) Oakton
6) Robinson (bit of a drop off after Oakton)
7) Cosby
8) South Lakes
9) Westfield
10) Deep Run (game against Cosby tonight will see if they belong)

Also RV: West Potomac, Chantilly, Freedom, Colonial Forge

Madison and Oakton both better than Langley.

As of this morning, I would group Langley, Battlefield, Madison, and Oakton as very similar. Any given day, each could beat the other three and it wouldn't be an upset. Battlefield was the clear #2, but they stumbled over the weekend. Tonight's Madison v. Yorktown could of impact this. If Madison, loses by a few or more, then no change. If Madison wins, then Yorktown and Madison are 1A and 1B. I see it like this:

1. Yorktown
2A. Madison
2B. Battlefield
2C. Langley
2D. Oakton
3A. Robinson
3B. Cosby
3C. South Lakes

How did all teams do this past weekend at Battlefield tournament? Did every team get to play despite the weather?

The last game for Western A was cancelled because of weather.

As a visitor:

Well run tournament
Plenty of Parking
Restrooms at the field (not porta John’s)
Plenty of food at the concession stand
Games ran on time

Only snag, out of their control, was an accident on the road getting there shutting down some things.

I have a question, out of the districts do the top two go to regions or top four?

Based on what? A little analysis might give credit to your statement.
