Go ask your bosses at the Kremlin |
NP: And who are your bosses, dear neocon? The CEOs at military contractors! |
The reason nothing changed in Afghanistan was because the us wasn’t willing to do what the Chinese do in xinjiang. It wasn’t a capability issue but an issue of will/resolve and self imposed guardrails Ukraine will grind on for a decade more because neither side has the capability. |
In other words, the US will make sure Ukraine goes back to the stone age. Great job Biden lads. |
Ukraine is not Afghanistan. |
This specific hot phase of the war is only about 16 months. |
I don't agree with gas chambers, but with the overal NATO sentiment that despite the significant hardship created by Ukraine blowing up Nordstream 2, they worked to keep their alliance supportive of Ukraine. There were well-founded fears that had this been more widely known at the time, Germany and other countries would NOT have helped Ukraine as much as they did, fearing a backlash of their public opinion. There is so much that goes on that we don't know about in this war: lots of internal disagreements, everyone spying on everyone else to keep them honest, keep tabs on Ukraine so it doesn't go on a rampage with the weapons we give them (and it's understandable they would want to), etc... War is so messy and exhausting. All we see is the tip of the iceberg. What's truly remarkable, coming out of this example publicized by the WaPo, is how solid our NATO alliance has been. Putin was correct to hope that it would crumble. It should have crumbled! It's a miracle it did not. Biden, Macron, Von der Leyen, the eastern block (apart from Hungary) etc, they are all ultra-committed to the union. Putin expected Macron to be a weak link, given the perennial French unwillingness to lick America's boots like other European leaders, but Macron has always prioritized European supremacy, and it's on those grounds he supports Ukraine. Zelensky being such a gifted communicator helped immeasurably, and that's not something Putin could have predicted. Z rose to the occasion in the most remarkable way, and has lobbied nearly every country in the world to get compassion, promises of support or at least, neutrality. This could so easily have gone wrong. Putin miscalculated, but not by that much. |
The US is not running this war or Ukraine. Ukraine is an independent actor fighting for their own survival. russia has repeatedly made its intentions clear and has explicitly stated that they want to wipe the very idea of Ukraine and Ukrainians off the map. It is obvius why Ukraine continues to fight back. It is not at all obvious why russia continues with its disastrous invasion and crimes against humanity. |
Ah the Russia bots are loose again. Spreading a merry mess of bs, obfuscating facts, distracting and derailing the conversation, lowering morale. Come on, Jeff. Isn’t here a filter or like captcha system you can add to screen these fkers out? |
The US is not running the war, just providing the money, equipment, logistical support, intelligence, satellites, rules of engagement and strategy. The war is over in two weeks if the US bows out. |
^ bot spewing moral lowering propaganda designed to grind down and influence others to simply “give in” to the invasion. Fk off. |
If that's what you need to tell yourself to handle the humiliation and sleep at night then so be it. But all it does is prolong the humliation and you know it's not true. Ukraine is not just going to surrender when their very existence is at stake. |
Very true. |
Is it? So what happens if the war was to just end like that with America and the world ceasing to aid Ukraine? Who gets Ukraine, all its grain, its strategic importance as a nation on the world stage? Let me guess. Russia. And then they get stronger and their influence grows and basically…they win. Somehow I’m sure you are okay with that. Botnick. |
In that scenario, millions of Ukrainians are killed under Russia goal of genocide. Why is this a good thing, comrade? |
